We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Ugh, I'm glad my life is filled with Roll With It And Adapt types.

A thousand times this. I don't think people realize how much that energy impacts people around them.

Well holy fucking shit. I didn't expect Biden to step down so soon, if at all.

I wonder if he’ll throw his support to Harris. I think she could really energize the get-out-the-vote movement in so many demographics (women, of course; and POC, including South Asians as well as Black people; and hopefully younger people).

I think he could serve another 4 years quite competently. But I also see how he won’t be competitive enough against Trump this time around, even though he was last time.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

And the Democrats have no presidential nominee now. I don’t see how this could go poorly at all.

Still, literally no candidate is better than Trump.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

They better get behind Harris right fucking now.

I just read that Biden already endorsed Harris.

The next 3 months are going to be batshit insane.

Thrive to spite them

Well I thought to myself "you haven't checked the news today maybe you should..."

And what do I see...this is going to be. I'm not sure

I will say that while it's frustrating to see how Trump's memory lapses and rambling seem to be downplayed I do see it as different from Biden.

Trump was always incoherent and rambling he has gotten more so but there hasn't been a dramatic decline . With Biden it's pretty obvious that he has been having issues based on his recent past. And that is ...maybe not dramatic but a big deal. Of course I'm pretty sure that if Trump were in coma the GOP would keep him as the nominee and his supporters would vote for him.

I will continue to avoid social media because I don't want to have to deal with the "well id vote for a woman , just not Harris" comments that I know I'll see from various left and progressive dudes (maybe some women I dunno).

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I’m really gutted at this. It feels like a centrist revolt that is putting all of our lives in danger.

I think there was less than no chance that Biden did anything but throw himself 100% behind Harris. But I will be shocked if the same voices calling for Biden to step down did anything of the sort now.

I’m a huge fan, and I think she’ll make an incredible president. But it’s going to be an ugly road. And if the so-called liberal donor class and white liberal punditry don’t stop showing their asses, we’re all in big trouble

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I saw the news about Biden from that Destiel meme on tumblr. (I don’t think I’ll ever be able to watch Mischa Collins in anything ever again without feeling twitchy about impending news. ) I’ll be happy to vote for Harris. To be fair, I’d vote for one of my cats’ hairballs before I’d vote for Trump, with the sure and certain understanding that the hairball would do a better job. But what little I’ve seen of Harris suggests she’s smart and as ethical as we can expect from a politician. She also won’t have the weight of ageism or the Gaza issues weighing her campaign down.
