I didn't run yesterday and barely got out of the house.
I felt a bit guilty about posting my lowest step count of the year, so I woke up at 7 and got out running before 8.
Very foggy morning for a run but I didn't mind that.
Sometimes it's good to roll over and go back to sleep.
But sometimes it feels better to get up and get out the door early.
I managed to get my steps yesterday—walked the dog to and from daycare (much more pleasant in the morning) and went dancing. When I showed up to dancing I was like “it’s surprisingly not as hot in here as I feared!” But by the time I left, even though I think it was still 85 out, it felt like a cool breeze after the sweltering sauna our dance space had become!
Many happy returns hippocampus!
Had some serious fog coming through the pass this morning - unusual for this time of year and such a nice change! I did have a moment of thinking "wait, is this fog or is this smoke?" but it was definitely fog. And they may have over fixed the office A/C that was messed up last week, I might need to put on a sweater. So weird after melting at home the several days. Do not know how to dress for these conditions.

I basically always feel better about life if I get up and out the door early, but it is VERY HARD to remember that when it is early.
I stumbled across a groundhog in my driveway this morning while bringing in some laundry. Cute little fella(?) froze, then scampered across the street into a neighbor's yard. I hope the local cats aren't a problem for it.
In related news, I've abandoned the idea of growing cucumbers or other vegetables in a backyard garden. The groundhogs are welcome to all the wild strawberries they want to eat, however.

It's so annoying that this is so true.
Wild strawberries! Cool.

The problem is that the feeling better about life doesn't kick in until AFTER you get up and do the moving-around thing, which is hard to convince yourself of from the comfortable position of staying in bed.
Also, now that I know it's called hurkle-durkling, lying around in bed is even more appealling!
I have been up and about and working and so forth for hours today and I would love to go back to lying around in bed as soon as possible
