Punishingly Intricate

My beloved aunt’s beloved husband passed this morning. My mom and I were able to spend time with him a couple of weeks ago and could tell it wouldn’t be long but ughhhhh. It fucking sucks. He was one of the best people.

I’m sorry, lisah.

Our wings are not tired.

Good Monday all! And a good day it is to celebrate Karl. Happy birthday! May there be many treats today, and may the year to come be kind to you and yours.

Our wings are not tired.

And my morning catchup post.

I'm so sorry, lisah.

I should really, really visit alla this stuff more often.

Same. It takes having visitors to remember all the wonderful things we have in our communities. It is wonderful that you were able to do so much with Shir.

And yes, I was making a cat yoga video to entertain the new guy.

Made me look! And yes, the fourth was with you both. Super adorbs.

How's everyone's Sunday going? It's quiet up in here.

I did an amazing amount of nothing. Listened to my book club book for several hours. (Trying to finish by Wednesday's gathering) Recovering from the cruise. I love my sisters and we had nice times and many giggles, but I was exhausted. The ship was huge. It was 1000 steps just to get to the dining room and back. Both sisters were in electric scooters. I did go to the gym once, but I got so much walking in just getting to meals and shows that I didn't need more exercise.

No name yet, I haven't decided. But she's a small shepherd, with a dark face and lovely lighter-colored eyebrows. Big ear action as well.

Doggo! Congratulations to you both.

Big Ear Action aka Bea is not a bad name for a dog.

I like it!

Happy Birthday, Karl!

Aw, new pup! Congrats, Suela.

Laura, so glad you had fun on the cruise.

Lisah, I'm sorry for your family's loss.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Trudy, there was a big article in the WaPo today about Tom Selleck that made me think of you (you did some work on Blue Bloods, right?)

I did get to work on Blue Bloods a few times. Its a good team, good environment. The only person I feel bad for is Tom Selleck's stand-in. Anywhere else in the world he's probably the hunkiest guy in the room - 6'4", 'stache, jawline, broad shoulders (fills out a suit like a dream)... but every day of his life he goes to work and he's Not Tom Selleck.

A burden we all share. Except Tom Selleck.

Happy birthday, Karl!

Getting down to the nitty gritty with the Memorial. I have much to do today.

Good news is, Jacqueline's brother Lukas is going to be setting up the Livestream. Since Lukas works for NBC and is responsible for their satellite uplink during the Olympics, this is not going to be particularly challenging for him.

Huge load off my plate.

Sunny day in SF. Eager to run this morning as I was thwarted yesterday by an event at Kezar Stadium.

Coding and Sleeping

How's everyone's Sunday going? It's quiet up in here.

My Sunday was not good, had a total breakdown Sunday morning which I'm still embarrassed and ashamed about. Just an awful weekend overall. OTOH, I spread out about 24 bags of soil around the foundation of the house, spread 16 bags of mulch, spread weed and feed over most of the yard and mowed the part that didn't get the weed and feed, did some laundry of course, did some grilling, went to the grocery store, got the utility trailer cleared off to get all that soil and mulch, and some routine house stuff. Have to admit, I don't think about retirement much, I feel like I just worry about getting through the week.
