I am having a no good week. Yesterday I locked my keys in the car picking up ltc from camp because I was trying to pretend I could still function with a migraine. Today my car died at cap at drop off. So I had to call AAA again. I’m finally home two hours after leaving the house. Donated the Dunkin order I placed the minute before my car died to a local teen, and I still haven’t eaten anything today. It’s the alternator. We’re supposed to be taking ltc to Salem in a couple of weeks for her birthday and I was hoping to be able to spoil her a bit and I promised her she could get a mani/pedi too. Someone wake me when everything is less expensive.

Karl, I'm relieved to hear nothing broken!
sj, what a pile-on of badness! You deserve a super cute affordable pedicure for sure.
I never get pedi’s for myself because I’m always wearing my leg braces and I can’t feel my feet anyway. But I was going to get a gel manicure. I’ll probably just figure out a way for ltc to get hers. I need to find a part time work from home job, but I haven’t worked in forever, don’t have a degree, and only have retail work in my work history which I’m no longer capable of doing. So, it just seems impossible.
Thank you for letting me vent. I had to cancel my therapy appointment because of all of this.
Ugh I’m sorry, sj. No food and no therapy must be amplifying the suckiness of it all. Hope you have some smooth sailing days ahead.
Timelies all!
I'm sorry you're having a sucky week, sj.
Nothing much going on here. The cats are wrestling in the bathtub again.(Not a sentence you hear often)
Can relate a little to that suck, sj. Wish I had a good answer or something beyond the Nora Ephron "it's all copy," thing.
Thanks, everyone. Yes, the no food and no therapy was definitely not helping.
It never does. I spent way too much time on "batting practice" on a colleague's facebook page yesterday. I shouldn't get so involved in governor's races where I am not, but there is a family connection to Wisconsin, memories and whatnot, and it doesn't take much to activate "giving a fuck when it's not my turn" anyway, especially when one's hundred-year-old thoughts on poverty are summed up with "Well, if you're not *lazy*. I obviously had to show them how not lazy I am, and also how sad I was not to be hanging out with their mothers who were probably more fun and accepting overall.(Some remarks just don't deserve more attention than that...they really don't. Which is not what I expected social media, let alone meeting one of my heroes, to teach me, but it did. I don't get as angry when I do that, anymore. "Your mama" keeps my heart out of it.) It was a worthy effort. At the same time, I'm glad it's not the last thing I ever did. Right?
sj, this week using a walker to get around the apartment is reminding me a little too viscerally of all the bullshit the disabled people in my life have to deal with day in and day out. I say it's a wonder nobody's gone homicidal over it.
Solidarity and love, now and always.
