Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

I went to Orange County for a couple of days for my birthday (Friday afternoon - Sunday evening) and since I've been back my cat's not acting right. At first I thought she was just punishing me (hiding, pooping next to the litter box) for going away a couple of days, but now I'm concerned about her. She hasn't eaten in a couple of days I think and when she moves from one spot to another (still mostly avoiding me), she's moving slow and staggering a bit. I think I should try to get her to a vet, except she's still hard to catch and I don't want to drive her into a panic when she's obviously feeling poorly (half-grown, semi-feral when we took her in - still not a fan of people AT ALL and hasn't been to the vet since she was spayed [that whole not being able to catch her thing]). Right now I'm just leaving her alone and making sure she's got water near by if she wants it. Monday and yesterday I was still hoping she might bounce back, now I don't know what to do ... if anything.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Epic, I hate to say this, but I do think you should take her to the vet. Cats not eating for more than a couple of days can lead to serious problems, including pancreatitis. If they can give her fluids tonight, that will help her recover.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Yeah, unfortunately, those are all red go to the vet flags.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh no, Epic! That does sound concerning. I hope you can get her to the vet without too much problem.

I'll get the carrier from the garage and see if I can get her into it. This is really a shitty start to my 53rd year. (See message in Beep Me)

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

The heat wave continues here. The drive home wasn't too bad, considering that the a/c is not working well and the temps were in the 90s. Probably helps that my car is parked in a garage all day, away from the sun.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I hope the new treatment is helpful, Epic, and that you can get your cat to the vet with minimal issues.

Dammit. I'm so sorry, Epic.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Oh Epic, that is sucky. I am so sorry.

Ooh, that is a nice looking happy hour! $2 oysters is pretty good! I still want to be able to get them for a quarter but I know that's not a thing that will happen.

I couldn’t figure out why I was dreaming about oysters but I think this might be it.

Oh Epic, so sorry. What a birthday.

I need to clean my house for guests and prep for the pride brunch I’m throwing…don’t especially want to but definitely want to more than I want to do work! Which is a bit of a problem because there’s plenty of work to do.
