Oh Epic, so sorry. What a birthday.
I need to clean my house for guests and prep for the pride brunch I’m throwing…don’t especially want to but definitely want to more than I want to do work! Which is a bit of a problem because there’s plenty of work to do.
Damn, Epic. You deserve a better birthday. Many, many, many better birthdays.
I was able to catch Ember. I had to find an emergency vet, no one else would take a walk-in (some people need to revisit the meaning of "Urgent care"). They said she's severely anemic, but they don't know why. So tonight she's staying there, currently on oxygen, going to get a transfusion. Hopefully tomorrow they figure out what's causing the anemia. Thank you for encouraging me to take her in. She seemed to be doing better just from the oxygen when I left. So I feel like less of a monster for how miserable she looked when I put her in the carrier. The $$$is going to be considerable, but I'll figure it out later. For now, just trying to unwind enough to get some sleep...
I’m sorry, Epic. That is a rough start to your new year. Glad you were able to get your kitty to the vet and hope they figure out what’s going on with her soon and hope it’s not too expensive to treat. (Pets!!) Also, hope your new treatment goes smoothly and the side effects are limited.

Feeling sad this morning about Jacqueline. Sitting in the window seat, watching the fog trying to sneak in and "the tears come unbidden." Not copious sobs, but just leaking out around the perimeter.
Sometimes I just have to sit with the loss.
Probably should get a run in this morning.
