Giles: I jump out of the circle, jump back in, and, and, shake my gourd. Buffy: Hey, I think I know this ritual. The ancient shamans were next called upon to do the Hokey-Pokey and to turn themselves around.

Natter 78: I might need to watch some Buffy for inspiration

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

What do you think of Dr. Glaucomflecken's portrayal of ortho bro?

"Somewhere in this building is our talent." Toby Ziegler, my spirit animal

I think with orthos it's either bro or Sheldon Cooper, but I hope somebody gets a good one.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy Mothers' Day to all Buffista mothers and mother figures.

It's been a rough day here. Mr. S has been hyper all day(and yes, he did get his morning meds). I've been missing my mom all day.(Gary told Mr. S that I was sad, and why, and of course he got sad because everything is about him.) My MIL came over and we ordered dinner from a nice Italian restaurant.

You have to remember that being a 5-time Olympic medalist means Hilary Knight has been playing hockey at an elite level at least 16 years. It's impossible for her to be a teenage girl less than 16 years old, thus the President's complete lack of interest.

I took Mom out for Mother's Day lunch, which turned out to be at the best local Chinese/Pan-Asian place because the American-style chain restaurants were already swamped at 11:30. It worked out well, nice calm non-crowded interior and she really liked the food and appreciated being in control of portion size. (I can't wrap my head around loving Americanized Chinese food but hating Japanese, Vietnamese, and Thai, which are all superior cuisines to my taste buds. But yay! cashew chicken and crab rangoons I guess.) Tomorrow we're off to the hospital again, this time for her latest cancer surgery—no worries there aside from being left hanging about check-in time, as we're pretty used to the routine at this point.

I have been crossing Pennsylvania all day. It’s pretty, but there’s a lot of it and I am tired.

Texted with my mom first thing this morning which is funny to me but she started it so I assume that is the communication she wanted today.

And the topper to the day?

Mr. S had a major meltdown and Gary took him to the ER, while I took my MIL home. Gah...

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

My sister and I went to Wisconsin for my great-niece’s dance recital. It was fun! Then, just before coming back, my sister learned that there was a major water main break in their town, so they may be without water for two weeks. They don’t want to move in here (and my apartment would be small for three people, two dogs, and a cat). But they are going to be coming by for showers every night, and getting by with bottled water for drinking, and disposable eating ware at home. My sister hates cooking, so she does not mind takeout and tv dinners for the next two weeks, but I’ll probably have them over a few times for something closer to a meat and two veg. Anyway, unexpected family time is unexpected! I’m glad I can do more than text them “gee, that sucks” from NC.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I got way behind. It’s been a while since that happened. I miss yall.

Recovery thought for Tim and Matt.

Trudy, I am so sorry. You are such a good carer and I know the last few years have been full of closeness.

Sophia, much love to you and your uncle. Sudden and unexpected is tough. Be gentle with yourself and it is likely that nothing will feel “right”.

Dana, keeping you all in my thoughts. Safe travels.

Belated birthday wishes to Karl. May this year be the start of upward trends.

I’ve missed people, I know.

Meara, I hope the ceremonies went well and held at least some comfort.

CALLI! Congratulations!! Woohoo!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

msbelle with a meara!

A sentence that only makes sense to us.

Matilda broke the door to our garden and my contractor just pinged me because they don't have any replacement doors that look the same. And it's a small bummer because I don't really want it to look different. But we work with what we've got.

Grey morning in San Francisco but I'm dressed and ready for Pilates.
