Very convincing. Makes me completely want to put myself under government control. Please take me to where you can make me unconscious and naked.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Jilli, my brain goblins would go to the exact same place as yours (and have, and will again), so I get where you're coming from. But since it isn't happening to me (right now), I can tell you your Brain Raccoons are mistaken, and don't seem to have a good grasp of HR principles. Like erika said, it would be illegal. But also, I don't think your boss would send you information about leaves and accommodations if she didn't (1) recognize that you were entitled to them, or (2) think you legitimately deserved them.

She also isn't offering the leaves and accommodations as a trap, to see if you'll be a "Good Employee" and turn it down while you bravely struggle through working with a migraine. There is no incentive for your company to act like that. It's genuine and being offered in good faith, and your Brain Raccoons need to hush up and let you take care of yourself.

Unrelated: the dentist appointment was to get a scan for a crown on an implant. But the dentist was running suuuuper behind, and it's not like it's an emergency for me, and I live less than a mile away and work from home, so it's no big deal to reschedule. He was so relieved when I offered.

So: Wednesday is teeth cleaning, and some time later this week will be crown scan. My life is a carnival.

Do I have decades of trauma from working at Microsoft? Yes, yes I do.

Honestly, your brain raccoons are just trying to protect you; they're just *too* good at it. They're overreacting, or pre-reacting, or something. You and the raccoons will be absolutely fine if you take care of yourself.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

Same, Tep. I know there are bigger problems out there, but more fun might make it easier to fight through the tough stuff. Sadly, boss, more fun doesn't include a lot of unpaid phone shifts that people are all "Thank you for your service," about. I wonder if I'll ever find passion for that again, since that's mostly what I get from it, being part of a minority that both parties, well, let's be nice and say "tend to ignore"--but I've stayed away this past week cause I've been kind of congested and don't want to lose my voice talking to every machine on the Western Seaboard...Did that once for Obama--don't remember if that was allergies or me just trying to do WAY too much, but it lasted for three days.(poncy bugger owes me fifty quid) I don't do a hundred calls in two days anymore, though...the candidates aren't there when I'm all Don Vito. Doing better today--haven't felt*bad* but distracted, and, well, mucusy.quite frankly. a lot of literal sucking on lozenges and whatnot.
