Angel: Connor, this is Spike and Illyria. Guys, this is Connor. Connor: Hi. umm...I like your outfit. Illyria: Your body warms. This one is lusting after me. Connor: Oh...no, I--I--it's just that it's the outfit. I guess I've had a thing for older women. Angel: They were supposed to fix that.

Alas, there was not enough sunlight yesterday for the chimes to charge up and make for good pictures last night

My neighbor recently bought and stuck in the ground along our walkway some solar lights. But none of them were lighting up. I finally took it upon myself to open one up and found out they all had an on/off switch deep in the innards (why you had to take the top off then take the bulb out THEN turn on, I don’t know). So I turned them all on. Not sure the neighbor had even noticed they weren’t working

Our wings are not tired

Drew!! Talk to me about Pair Eyewear!

I love them. The base glasses are actually good quality, and then you can just have fun with the toppers. I don't think they take insurance directly, but you may be able to get reimbursement through your insurance.

If you use this link [link] then you get $25 and I also get $25.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Half a century! SO WEIRD!

You may be approaching middle age, though it's hard to say in the 21st century.

Happiest birthday, Ple!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Happy birthday, Plei!

Happy birthday Plei!

I finally got my shit together to call the doctor (online the next available appointment is showing JANUARY???) and they are closed for the holiday. I am jealous. I would like to be closed for the holiday.

Happy birthday, Plei!

We are closed. DH and I went out for lunch and ice cream and are now watching a movie.

I adore all you motherfuckers so much -- PMM.

Plei, thanks for my tagline and happy birthday to you. I am so very glad to have met you; my life is richer with you in it.

Always Anti-fascist!

Happy birthday, Plei. As usual, my bad timing complicates my life! I had to follow that.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy Birthday Plei!

More stuff with Mr. S...Sunday I picked up my purse to go out to dinner and noticed my wallet was sticking out. Furthermore, it was open, and when I looked inside, my debit card wasn't there. I immediately went outside to ask Mr. S where it was. He claimed he didn't do anything to it, but he knew where it was. It was under some papers on the kitchen table. Grrr.... if he didn't do anything to it, how did it get there? I know I didn't take it out, and it sure didn't jump out of my wallet on its own.

Monday night he had a major meltdown while out walking with Gary. He rolled around in a pile of dirt, and threw some of it at Gary.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Happy birthdays!

I'm very grateful to have this day off work (yay for recognizing Juneteenth) and also feeling massively emotionally overextended. My mom was staying with me the last 18 days and is now back at her home which is a huge relief, and also I now have several days of clean up. Including returning multiple items because she loves to buy lots of stuff and then return most of it. But she is always so very very busy (don't get me started on how much that irks) that I get to return the purchases she made while here. I managed to take care of her amazon and old navy returns yesterday after work, and get to do some REI returns tomorrow after work.

Made some solid progress on getting mom to move across country to nearer to me, which is a relief. Also will be a hella lot of work in the near future to actually make that happen. But she is now convinced that living in the PNW isn't a BAD thing and that retirement communities can be more like college dorms than the horrid convalescent homes our grandparents wasted away in.

Dad is scheduled for pacemaker installation surgery next week. I feel like I should be there....but he's said don't bother and his partner said don't bother so I didn't bother and constantly re-litigating that decision in my brain. I'm not even clear on WHY he's getting a pacemaker. His heart has failed, yes, but he doesn't have any arrhythmia issues, and the LifeVest has never activated in the months he's been wearing it. Sounds like it's more of a precaution than an actual "this will be performing a task" situation. He's grumpy about limiting activity for weeks afterwards, especially being left-handed.

I should have put more effort into keeping in touch with friends while Mom was in town, rather than pushing everything back, because now it's all RIGHT NOW and that feels like too much and that i'm neglecting too many RL connections. Also, maybe, lack of sleep isn't great for feelings of overwhelmedness. Been getting hot flashes the last week which I don't enjoy at all, make my ears feeling all stuffy and fuzzy inside in a bad way on top of the expected sensations. I guess the perimenopause is hitting hard this month. 1/10 do not recommend.
