Joyce: You don't think it's too obvious? I think I look like I have a cat on my head. Buffy: But a very well groomed cat. Joyce: Well that's a comfort.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm sensing a laundry theme today.

Foggy morning in SF.

I'm venturing out the door wearing my Ouija Board cardigan and my tarot design scarf, so I'm full of magic and mysteries.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

School finally reopened today! (On a 3-hour delay which means each class is about 15 minutes long, but at least A is OUT OF THE HOUSE.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I thought it was my router or whatever but I finally got enough cell service to open the Xfinity app and got a notification that’s there’s network damage in the area, whatever that means. Well, relieved some of my guilt over not being able to do any work.

The cell service is Verizon and we’ve just always had pretty poor coverage here for whatever reason

Anyway, I had already downloaded the library book I’ve been listening to and occasionally can get through on Slack enough to cancel everything I planned to do today, so all good. Picking up A’s snow days, sort of

Got myself all packed up to go into the office tomorrow, called into a Zoom on my phone planning on bailing on the rest of the day, and the outage is fixed. Argh.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I deviated from my diet and had a whopping hot roast beef and melted munster sandwich.

That'll be both lunch and dinner but it was goooood.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I made one of my irregular trips to the office today because some folks on the team were in town; how does anyone get work done in an office anymore? I was there for 3 hours and couldn’t get anything done because people! Kept interrupting me! Sure, yay seeing some coworkers, but that was the only good part.

IO(work)N: the 2025 bonus will be on Friday’s paycheck, whoo!

To be fair, seeing you in person is a significant work perk.

Yay!

I had a full-body coughing fit yesterday that I'm still sore from this morning - blargh. OTOH I feel much better today so I guess it worked to expel whatever demon virus I was possessed by.

I've found, annoyingly, that going into the office part-time makes it near impossible for me to be productive on WFH days. When I was at home full time I was able to engage Work Brain at my desk, but now that I've adjusted to being in-office most days it's much harder to convince myself that home office is a Work Brain Place.

Punishingly Intricate

I really find it hard to imagine going into an office again.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Oh, god, me too. Even before covid, and when I was living in the same place as my office, I only had to go in one morning a week. How did I ever cope with being stuck there every day?
