It is so stressful, ND. With us, it is doctors, who can afford it far more than we can, who are the slow payers.

Natter 78: I might need to watch some Buffy for inspiration

Welp, DH's mom was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that has spread to her lungs. So. We just got off the phone with her and his younger brother, who is with her. She seemed quite herself, because who else is she going to be? He is going up on Sunday to stay with her for a short visit. She's at an independent living stage of a swank place up in PA. And so begins navigating this journey. Any spare comfort and ease ~ his and her way would be lovely.
Oy. All the ease~ma
All the ease and comfort, for everyone involved.
Oh, comfort and ease to everyone touched by this. And hugs if you want them.
ND, I'm sorry for the difficulties--may that improve for you.
Sheryl, I'm glad you got a little peace.
Thank you all for the bday wishes! It was very nice. I got two cakes! But I have guys here who will power through both of them toot sweet--no cake for days for me. I also got exactly what I wanted--no presents! Nothing new to dust! Honestly, I have all the stuff I could possibly want, let alone need. I'm clearing out some, this year. No new "stuff"!
Laura, I'm sorry for your wealthy late payers. Some people just lack empathy, is what.
I’m sorry it’s such a struggle to get paid, everyone struggling.
Also, hanging out with the youngs is a good thing for one's health and temperament, says my 88 y.o. aunt.
It certainly seems to be so for my mother. Then again, at 86 and 5/6 it's not as if she has a lot of options for hanging out with people who aren't younger.
We did some of that hanging out tonight when I took her out for dinner at a local Greek place. My chicken souvlaki was really good, her Greek salad not so much. But I made up for it by stopping at another local Greek place to pick up baklava for dessert.
Oh no, pancreatic cancer is so shitty.
I djed tonight which was more stressful than usual because I was testing out a new system for a friend who created it, but I think it went pretty well and hopefully will get easier as I get used to using it. And one of my favorite dancers from DC happened to show up, I had no idea he’d be there, so I got to do multiple really good dances!
Do you have a DJ name, meara?
So it rained all day yesterday, which finally washed away most of the snow we had. Just in time for 18″ of new snow tomorrow.
18″ of new snow tomorrow
That's not a real number. Holy shiiiiiiit.
