Natter 78: I might need to watch some Buffy for inspiration
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Have been having a delightful day with Shir! Man, I need more Buffista face time. It's a boon to the spirit.
This morning we did the Library of Congress, which, lovely, but they are renovating, so most of the collections were not available, and the Jefferson Reading Room is closed to non-researchers in the weekends. We viewed it from above.
Found food at Eastern Market. Didn't find the actual place we were looking for, but did delicious soup!
Now we're waiting for our timed entry to the Spy Museum at 4:30p. Dinner after at a well-reviewed vegan place near Shir's hotel to Co off the day. Tomorrow, National Gallery of Art to start.
The Spy Museum is really cool!
In other news, I feel like this is a site designed for us Internet Olds: [link]
Currently waiting to reestablish contact with Shir in the dark and shadowy word of espionage. Thank goodness for WhatsApp, just sayin'.
Timelies all!
It's been raining on and off all day. Supposed to rain tomorrow also. I am sleepy because I woke up early and didn't really get back to sleep.(And Mr. S came into our room around 7:30, of course)

Crusty Swamp Witch Will End You
I love those.
I am spending my weekend gluing rhinestones onto my outfit for the Vampire Masquerade Ball, which is in 3 weeks. It's the 20th anniversary and I'm the emcee (as usual), so I want my outfit to be even more over the top than usual.
So glue. Much rhinestones. wow.
I spent nearly 3 hours darning my favorite socks (I'm very slow), while watching this very very long video about Star Wars and politics and fascism and Hollywood: [link]
I ended up going over to a friend’s to watch “Stick It” and “Bend it Like Beckham” which one of us hadn’t seen. We wanted to make it a marathon with “Bring It On” of movies with Verb It in the title that should have been gayer, but it got too late in the evening for us. But it was a plan. We now want a remake of Bend it like Beckham where the girls are gay and Joe the coach falls for Tony the gay cousin.
Well, we just had a fab visit at the National Gallery of Art, and while the cafeteria is not the greatest, I was about to fade away, so, gumbo and tuna it is. Dinner last night was great, though!
Next some museum store browsing, and then we head to the Archives. And dinner.
I should really, really visit alla this stuff more often. I mean, it's here, and it's mostly free. And then I wouldn't need Shir or whoever to read the map for me... I'd know how to get around the museum, ha!
How's everyone's Sunday going? It's quiet up in here.
