Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Yesterday evening I saw a young couple - I kind of assume they were on their way to prom or some such - the young man was in a nice suit, the young woman was in a floofy pink mini-dress, pink purse, pink platform heels and carrying a bouquet of pink and white flowers. I told her she looked very pretty, so my day wasn't wasted.

I went and bought a dress - haven't worn a dress or even a skirt for at least ten years. Haven't worked up the nerve to wear it yet ....

Ooh, new dress... the right mood will strike to wear it.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Dresses are so great in the summer especially. Creates your own breeze.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The blue sky and the fog are at standoff right now. Normally when I see a wall of fog to the West it's going to roll in, but it's too early in the day and it's more likely the sun will melt it off by mid-morning.

No running today, though, because I have a Zoom call at 10am. But I ran the last two days (after no running in our LA weekend) so I feel okay about it.

Trying to catch up on the bills that went unattended during the run-up to the Memorial and our LA jaunt. Best to keep the phones and water turned on.

I went for a “run” yesterday with my BiL. We went about 5.5 miles but I think only about 1.25 of it was running. The rest was walking. But still! Fun to be able to walk down to a nice trail along the river! Shame they’re probably moving soon.

Tonight I fly home and get to see my puppy, whose birthday it is! Yay. He’s the best.

Aw, Happy Puppy Birthday!

I've walked the doggo a couple of times today, though that's really not a lot, because she's not much of a walker... I've encouraged her to extend her outside visits, more like. Pool tonight. Must do.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

The other point of consensus is just that everybody is focused on an exercise program that's going to maintain functionality. We've all experienced and seen that if you're not moving your body regularly your range of possible activity begins to shrink in a hurry.

Thank you for reminding me to add "Call the PT/Gym place to start a membership" to my to-do list today. They have a pool!

Always Anti-fascist!

I have a poetry workshop this afternoon. Sundress Publications does a lot of "suggested donation" Zoom ones.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I was getting peckish and feeling flummoxed about lunch and then I found a turkey birria quesadilla from Bi-Rite in the bin. And it was still good!

And it only took five minutes of the world's easiest cooking (flip it over a couple times in a frying pan) and was so delicious. They give it to you with a birria dipping sauce and that was very tasty.

Also, it's so big I usually only eat half at a time, so just the right amount of satiation.
