Willow: Something evil-crashed to earth in this. Then it broke out and slithered away to do badness. Giles: Well, in all fairness, we don't really know about the "slithered" part. Anya: No, no, I'm sure it frisked about like a fluffy lamb.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Major power outage in San Francisco. Whole city is down.

I'm currently with power in a green zone just hoping it doesn't spread anymore (but prepping for if it does). I only learned about the outage on Bluesky.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Now they say power is out until 8:15.

Fortunately Matilda has a power block and three portable chargers so we can keep the phones charged and use them for a hotspot.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Thank goodness for Matilda picking up so many portable chargers in Japan. Just loaned one to my downstairs neighbor so she could charge her phone and she and her son could go out of the car and back into the house.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

[Spongebob Narrator]: Six hours later...

The power came back on.

I guess there was a fire at a Substation that took out most of the City.

I hope my ice cream is okay.

The status is NOT quo.

Tachycardia solidarity represent!
Yes! Not AFIB, thankfully, but I had SVT, which is why I had a catheter ablation in 2021. Basically, they went in and burned out the misfiring…things that were misfiring (what are those called?) in my heart, and it seems to have cured it.

OUCH dcp! That’s so rotten! I hope pain meds and ice and rest help.

I’m glad the power is back on in SF!

I feel so badly for my mom. She’s been dealing with frigid weather in Connecticut and was really looking forward to warm, sunny SoCal, but we have another atmospheric river rolling in this Tuesday, and the rain isn’t going to stop until Sunday; the temps will be lows in the 40s and highs in the 50s — warmer than NE, for sure, but not the nice weather she’d been hoping for. She’s only here from the 25th-30th. I hope she gets at least a couple of sunny days.

Our wings are not tired.

Happiest Solstice wishes all! So ready for the days to get longer. It has been either take the dog to the park at 4:30 or walk around with the flashlight on to find the poop. I've been choosing the latter because the traffic is prohibitive earlier, and the dog isn't fond of sitting around on the road.

Power~ma to those still without power in San Francisco and weather~ma for all traveling and visiting during the holidays.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

It has been a quieter weekend than usual. Unfortunately, that is because Mr. S came down with the flu on Thursday, and is in isolation at the unit. We were supposed to do a playdate with the daughter of some friends of ours.(Their daughter is about 6 months younger than Mr. S) Instead we had an adult playdate and played games. Later today we are going over to my MIL's place for a Hanukkah thing and dinner.

Happy Solstice, y’all!

Sheryl, I hope Mr. S feels better soon.

Oh honey, the mentally unwell people have been in the fanbase since Game Changers was Stucky fanfiction on the internet. The calls have been coming from inside the house the whole time!

Happy Midwinter everyone!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Christ on a bike, I have 23 peer review requests. Can't I just say everyone did great and then log off for the year??
