Fairly busy week here. Getting tires this morning, then need to visit my MIL at rehab this afternoon. Tomorrow off to Bonita Springs to finish the house buying stuff which is becoming a hassle. Wednesday Book Club. Thursday going to ride in transport with MIL to her follow up visit with surgeon so I can ask questions. Friday, my doctor stuff. I really need to work on the more fun on the calendar part.
Yeah, that's a poor task to fun ratio! You need to work on that. Or...not work at it, but relax into it.
Monday morning, no Pilates as I let my stitches heal.
I got to see my friend Eleanor yesterday at Borderlands, the bookstore where she used to work and we became friends. She and her DH and new baby are moving to Atlanta in a two weeks so it's bittersweet. She's terrible at staying in touch and hates not only social media but texting, so it will basically be the end of my knowing her.
I'll see her one more time this week as I drop some stuff off at her house.
I mean, I'll still send her snail mail in Georgia, but I used to see her several times a week for several years. It's like losing a good work friend and our culture doesn't recognize or acknowledge that kind of loss.
My friends at the comic book store are going to be leaving soon too, so that's a pretty big hit to my parasocial network.
Some other losses our culture doesn't properly honor: when a favorite bookstore (or comic book store) closes, when your favorite DJ leaves, or worse, the station suddenly changes format, when your favorite player is traded off your team, when they cancel Firefly after one season.
