Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Yikes, good luck Pix!
I hope your travels go as well as possible, Pix.
Even with all the protective gear, I'm anxious about your travels, Pix. I hope they go safely and well.
WIN!! I left the dog at home to go to Trader Joe's, and this time, while he did bark like crazy as I left, by the time I came home he was quiet and just on the floor....wrapped in toilet paper...which I'd forgotten to remove from the bathroom. Hadn't touched the peanut butter filled Kong, but whatever! Success! (Except in that I forgot my shopping list and they were out of one of the things I remembered, so I have to go back to another store to get those, but...close to success!)
I hope everything goes well, Pix. The random “they” at my university seem to be emphasizing eye protection for us if we have contact with students and patients. They think that glasses are enough, but if you don’t wear glasses, they have you do eye protection.
And the Steve Martin/Silas Marner movie is real, and has Catherine O’Hara, who I somehow replaced in my head with Dana Delaney from Housesitter. [link]
The Silas Mariner movie is less surprising when you remember the Cyrano movie (complete with nose). Which are both less surprising if you're read or seen Picasso at the Lapin Agile.
I guess what I'm saying is that Steve Martin is pretty clearly a culture nerd.
a weird Steve Martin movie that was based on Silas Marner
It looks like you solved the mystery on your own, but I was going to say that either I took the same Sudafed or I also remember that movie. So it must be a real thing, not Sudafed.

the Cyrano movie (complete with nose)
We quote that all the time chez Zmayhem--at some point in the post-language-acquisition years you may well end up with a child who neither speaks very loudly nor listens to their parents very much, leading to a constant stream of misunderstandings, and you and your spouse will end up feeling strangely comforted by saying, "Earn more sessions by sleeving" to each other.

Roxanne!
I had my first PT appointment for my shoulder/neck today. The pain has been better the last week or so, but I still can't drive or walk with my crutches, which continues to be super frustrating in at time when I also don't have my mother or my in-laws to help out because of Covid. Today was an intake appointment to check my range of motion and pain. So, of course my arm was moved every which way, and it hurts a lot more than it has recently. Not back to omg kill me levels, but not great.
