I got to see my brother in person yesterday, even though the jail suspended in person visits. Turns out we grew up with one of the corrections officers in charge of the jail and she made it happen.

I just got a 10% raise! When I took this job, the salary was significantly lower than my previous job, but previous job worked in the oil industry. But it's been a year, and my boss successfully made the case to the CEO that I bring a lot of value. Customers seem to like documentation they can actually read.

The rollout of our vaccine mandate and subsequent registration platform is a SHITSHOW. I am literally the only employee answering questions. Entire sections of employees never received the email with the verification link and while I have informed OIT and updated them each day, I have not received any info on when or if it is being fixed. I have no direct contact with the vendor doing the registration collection and so cannot ask the questions about issues or the process.
