Bourbon, alibis, and vuvuzelas sounds like the title of a Buffista memoir.
Ah, ha, ha, ha!
Apart from the bed in our Air BnB combined with our backs and general "having the olds" regarding substandard beds, it's a lovely trip.
Glad it's going well aside from the beds. I'm figuring we'll have the same issue in our house full of Olds on our beach trip, but... worth it, I'm also figuring.
amyparker, yes, Hamilton still sends out paper catalogs ... various sizes but the print is uniformly small (or it could be that my aging eyes don't read it as easily these days). And they're charging sales tax these days, which they didn't do when I first started ordering from them. But the one cheap shipping/handling fee still makes me go through for the things I want. (And it lets me indulge my taste for terrible movies ... Bermuda Tentacles anyone?)
Tep, me too! What an unexpectedly moving little joke
Trudy, I was also thinking Legos would be a lovely gift - I wonder if they offer custom colors?
There's always clear Legos... [link] :)
There's always clear Legos...
Ooooooh, and they're 1 by 2s, a good size for finding feet in the middle of the night. :D Cash, how deep is the pile on the carpet?
If they're clear, would they be visible in the middle of the night on any surface? and on a hard floor, there would be the added possibility of a slip-and-fall.
A large collection of marbles is always a nice gift of a child.
Timelies all!
Am amused by all the suggestions for Cashmere.
I was a little reticent to say how enraged I am by Cash’s situation. But I love the suggestions. And am enraged.
A dear friend at works uncle just succumbed to Covid, and her aunt is in rehab with Covid related “confusion”. They were exposed by their Medi-Cab driver and their son an daughter in law caught it too, but were able to get the monoclonal antibody treatment. They were all (except maybe the Medi cab driver- they are not in a state with a mandate). My mom has a cough, and we have a close colleague sick- he is on the mend and was still working remotely, but maybe we shouldn’t all be back. On the other hand, we have to be back because we are going to all go crazy.
I just heard a story about a local(ish) woman who got covid and was on a respirator and had to have a c section three months early, and then was on ECMO too…her baby is still in the NICU two months later and she’s only just able to go home herself—but she says she still wouldn’t have gotten the vaccine because she survived and she’s not sure how her body would’ve reacted to the vaccine. I just can’t with people anymore. People!!!!
