Went to the UUFD’s 1st in-person service since March 2020. The in person attendance was small, masked & able to sit quite spaced out from each other. We also had zoom service - which we are planning on continuing for people who cannot be there in person. Actual, in person coffee hour too.
It was lovely to see people I haven’t seen in person in ages & to see a couple of people who are regulars who don’t attend on zoom & one person who had started attending on zoom & had never been in- person before.
Hang out day yesterday, then dinner with friends. Today just got mani/pedi, and quick CVS trip. Did a quick Newsletter edit this morning. Probably some WoW in my future now. And some food. Relaxing weekend. Would like to read now, after reading Laura's lovely recliner/wine reading time!
Timelies all!
My dad is fine on his own.(His diet may be a bit more limited, as he doesn’t cook much)
Mr. S is being impatient boy again.
I recorded the coverage of the races at Longchamp & one of them was a Gr.1 race for Arabians. 15 entries, 2 chestnuts, 1 bay & 12 grays. It’s like the opposite of what you’d expect from a thoroughbred race.
Ugh. Brother and BIL are with our mom in Reno this weekend, and they all just went out for a walk and she felt faint, fell down and couldn't get back up again. They're in an ambulance headed to the hospital now. Apparently she's conscious and feeling fine, just flustered and embarrassed, but her BP is low and they want to bring her in for evaluation. I'm so glad they're there with her.
I hope she feels better soon, JZ.
I’ve actually gotten things done this weekend, which isn’t always the case. Got my flu shot, my car’s oil changed, fiddly cocktail ingredients made, cats’ monthly meds applied, apartment swept, dead plant dumped, and I have a lead on a place to donate a bunch of cat-related stuff from operation “keep weight on Leifur” (which entails buying stuff for him to turn his nose up at). Also, I made a batch of ginger butternut squash soup and put half of it in the freezer instead of getting bored with it half way and letting it go bad.
Oh dear, jz- I hope it turns out to be some transient thing & not something super serious.
JZ, good that they were there with her. Much health~ma sent her way. Scary!
Oh, no, JZ! Sending good vibes her way.
That's scary, JZ. Glad they are with her and that she's getting checked out.
My dad is still in the hospital, two weeks later. He was doing really well. We were planning on getting him to transition to a short therapy stay in a nursing home but the last two days he's faded--confused, tired, and his white count shot up. They are testing him for sepsis.
