And how should we pronounce "pecan," Susan?
I say pik-AHN, but I'm becoming somewhat less prescriptivist about such things in my old age.
'War Stories'
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Aw, Shir. That sounds so hard. Much love to you
Edited to add - and Happy Hannukah! I keep forgetting
How did the brownies turn out, Cindy?
Timelies all!
Another day, another mid-class meltdown from Mr. S. sigh....First couple of classes were ok, and the afternoon classes went alright, but inbetween...yikes.
This week off has not been terribly restful for me.
I just watched the worst LE product launch I've ever seen happen in real time. Hype a product set with a legendarily feral and large fan base, don't put it on the home or what's new page, don't tell people they'll have to use a specific search term to find the product page, and have it sell out in 5 min.? Your project managers are a disaster.
While I'm Really Angry about not getting the thing I wanted (Pete said he could feel my rage from the other room), I feel sorry for whoever has to handle their social media accounts. Which have said NOTHING in response to this.

You didn't ask me, but I'm going to say it anyway: p'KAAAAAN!!!

Like something a thin Bryn Mawr graduate, whose father was a Connecticut doctor, would bake and call "brownies."

Ha! Not going to try them, then, check.
Happy Hanukkah!
askye, I feel bad for your dad. I am glad he's feeling better physically.

I always find it funny (emphasis on "fun") which little nothing conversations on here have stayed with me.
Ha! Not going to try them, then, check.
Less flippantly, they weren't bad, Jen, but I think I'll try a different recipe next time. If I were to make them again, I'd double the recipe for sure. I made them for the lowest amount of time listed (and popped them in the fridge to cool), but they weren't fudgy.
Someone linked me to the King Arthur recipe last night. I think I'll try those [link] or Alton Brown's [link] next time.
I look forward to your brownie rankings.
