I'm picturing a whole Tasmanian Devil whirling dervish thing going on, for you AND Matilda.
Especially since she's got a skin care regimen to do and it's not a school bus but a Muni bus. But it was especially whirly twirly this morning because I overslept to 7:15, so I didn't have time to sit and absorb my coffee first.
As you can imagine, assembling a sandwich just woken and pre-coffee involves several minutes of staring blankly at the ingredients trying to remember whether the bread goes on the outside or what.
Among the pleasant things that occurred in Michigan was the discovery that my once quasi-libertarian nephew has swung waaaaaaay left. As in, advocating for universal basic income and healthcare. And not because he’s struggling either—he’s made twice my income since graduation (robotics). He just thinks they’d be good for society. I’m so proud! (I say as I wipe away a socialist tear.)
Aw, Calli, that's awesome!
Timelies all!
Went to my MIL's for the second day of Rosh Hashanah services. Managed to trip going up the stairs to the patio and scraped up my knee. I am sooo talented.
I didn't drink coffee regularly until I was in San Francisco in my mid-twenties.
I didn't drink coffee until I was 30. I have managed to curb my 12 cup pot+ consumption of black caffeinated coffee to only 3-4 mugs of decaf now. I do make a yummy keto-friendly mocha with cocoa, stevia, and heavy cream most mornings now. I haven't missed the caffeine after doing half and half for a time.
Ah, David. I feel your pain. I don't miss the hectic morning routines at all. Although I did generally do the lunch thing at night. Until I talked them into school lunch which was awesome.
That is delightful to read, Calli!
I’m 54, and I still haven’t gotten around to drinking coffee. That’s because coffee is gross.
I was always a tea drinker. My husband tried to get me to drink coffee, but he drank it with sugar and cream and I didn't like it. When I was stuck in an airport long long ago they had free coffee and water for the people waiting so I poured some black, like I drank tea. And I liked it. DH at the time said he wished I never started because he never got more than one cup out of a pot after that because I drank it faster than he did.
