LOL Jess—depends on the change I guess? Internally at work there are some systems we are supposedly updating or upgrading and I am ALL FOR IT….mostly because the current systems are/were ancient. (One we got a new system and it’s not perfect but it’s a heck of a lot better, one I know they claim is rolling out this fall/winter and the old version you still have to use internet explorer to use it!!) I hope your changes aren’t shit on all over social media!!
I am not loving work but am trying to figure out how I’m going to take all the vacation I need to not lose any, but also not screw over any of my coworkers. I need to take like 5 weeks of vacation between now and the end of the year!

This is more along the lines of "Twitter changed its font" or "Facebook moved the lefthand sidebar to the right". Even if 99% of users think it's fine, the social media response is largely HOW DARE YOU MAKE A CHANGE I HATE YOU FOREVER.

Today is turning into a boondoggle thanks to Google drive access weirdness and trying to work around a vendor being off for Rosh Hashanah next week.
I feel like I should be aware of changes made by your employer that people would be yelling about on Twitter, Jess, but I'm not. Maybe should be tweeting that my experience continues to be fine and I haven't even noticed a change? That would require me to tweet, though, so that's not going to happen. My boss just confirmed that I can choose to continue to wfh until January. I still feel like this might be a trick. I'll be interested to hear how they square this with requiring all employees to work 16 hours at the outlet sale - not that I am objecting to working the sale, I did it last November and with all the precautions we took I was pretty comfortable with it so I assume this year we will be similarly careful, but the 25% of our workforce that is still unvaccinated I don't know about...
That is a lot of vacation, meara! I hate use-it-or-lose it PTO with a red hot fiery passion. I actually am cashing in 87 hours of vacation time to get what should be the equivalent of an extra paycheck in October. I feel like I am betraying my Take Time Off ideals but at this point I need the cash more. Last time I took two days off the stress of trying to leave everything in good shape before and then catching up afterwards outweighed the pleasantness of not working.

They let us go home early today, so here I am.
I have about 7 weeks vacation right now, that is use it or lose it, although because Covid they are letting us get a payout for 60hours. I wish they would let us pay it all out and start fresh. I have taken 2 weeks since 2018, and I can rollover 5 weeks, but I am just never getting to use this without screwing over someone. I am annoyed at single user dependencies, but there are so many things that just shut down when I am out.
