Boston got lucky, towns to the north and south, not so much -- 9 inches in New Bedford. And just now we have blue skies between puffy clouds.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Timelies all!
Lovely weather here-high 70s/low 80s, sunny with a little breeze. Guess the storm blew out the heat.
Just signed up to get my flu shot at work! On a Friday when I think I am theoretically supposed to be working from home, but either driving in just for the shot or working at the office that day is still more convenient than getting myself over to Kaiser. This whole "being in the office" idea still does not seem real to me, we'll see if I can actually accept it when it happens on Tuesday...
Just signed up to get my flu shot at work!
VIRAL MAYHEM
::headbang:: \m/
Ooh, yeah, guess I better start thinking about the flu shot, yikes!
Good lord, I think my company just snuck another small reorg in on us. Our VP tol us that a position was eliminated in our department, which is always a bummer, but now I'm told that a salesperson I was working with is now under a different sales director and I think that means I'm not supporting that division anymore? But no one knows for sure yet. JUST WHAT I WANTED MORE UNCERTAINTY
Oh, wait maybe I won't be back in the office on Tuesday. Latest email from the Managing Director is confusing but it sounds like it's voluntary for fully vaccinated people and I don't know what to do with that information.
Oh -t, your workplace is quite perplexing. Does voluntary office time, mean when you feel like it? I'd like that option.
Back from a trip to Niagra Falls, then Watkins Glen with DH, son, and GF. It was delightful and exhausting. The Falls were awesome and the Maid of the Mist ride was better than expected. Good stuff. I was disappointed in my physical condition at Watkins Glen. Granted the ravine trail has 800 steps, but I don't think I managed a quarter of it. Have to work on my stamina big time. I think I did most of it last time.
So yeah, I'm exhausted. Beyond exhausted.
I can dig it. (random from discussion with son over generational norms) I thought taking 2 days "off" to go play would unwind Brendon, but he is just as exhausted if not more so. Me too for that matter. Taking time off meant getting up earlier and staying up later to do the work I couldn't do during much of the day, and checking email and fixing issues via phone multiple times while eating, driving, and so forth. I know we wouldn't have done well working for others, but the idea of an actual week off without being on call 24/7 is a fantasy I will never realize.
ND, vibing restorative-sleep vibes in your direction because I don't know what else to do. You've spent the last year and a half juggling flaming bowling balls not only without a break but with the occasional extra flaming ball tossed at you for no reason except that the universe is kind of an asshole, and somehow you haven't dropped any, and you deserve a medal and a solid month of hibernation.
Also, what JZ said so well.
At least it is Friday.
Also, separate post to note that it is Liese's birthday today. Don't see her around these parts often, but on my mind as I send wishes for a delightful day and a spectacular year to come.
