Strix!! Happy birthday.
God, you have my email and my number. Reach out to me anytime.
On a side note the noise canceling ear muffs I got are more the kind for working conditions. Bulky but lightweight. It's a good visual signal I need quiet. It doesn't cancel out voices but does a good job with canceling out M's phone . We're in the habit now of lying in bed and he'll watch anjme or tiktok and I'll play a phone game or read with them on .
It's been interesting and sometimes trying living in a house with 2 people who seek out noise and sound to fill the silence and me who needs to get away from it. It's meant compromise from all of us and it took me awhile to figure it all out and it's still a process but we are getting better at it.
So glad that it turned out well, Steph.
Some pictures from the weekend.

They look so happy, Gud! Just beautiful.
Hooray, Steph. Glad that turned out okay.
Glad that went well, Tep!
Glad that went well, Steph. And pulling for the doctors to figure out the hallucinations.
Gud, great pictures of happiness. And, askye is full of wisdom on this... well, and on many things... please be open to hearing her and valuing you for you. You're awesome.
Scola, a class could be just the thing. Social, but also not constantly social, if that makes sense. I think of it as getting credit for and benefit from being around people but not necessarily having to interact like I'm at a party or something.
And Happy Birthday to Strix!
Steph, glad it went well. Aside from the danger of your dad shooting someone (who was actually there) because of his hallucinations, there was also the issue of having the guns stolen and getting out into circulation. That happened with my father - he had a number of guns, including a handgun that my mother's father, um, acquired during WWI. They were stolen and ... went who knows where. So that's one worry off your shoulders.
Steph, what a relief. I'm glad it went well, and I hope that the doctors can figure out what is going on with your dad and help him.
So... the cutest bride in the world?
Every happiness to them.
And to you, Gud. You deserve to be happy.
Glad to hear things went as well as could be expected, Steph. Hope your dad's doc can do something about the hallucinations.
Tom, even if the class isn't teaching you new principles, odds are seeing other people's perspectives and getting critiques of your work from the teacher and maybe other students will be useful. And having something structured that gets you out of the house but isn't a high stress/pressure environment might be a good way to ease yourself back into the habit of socializing more. I took a couple of photojournalism classes post-graduation and even though I never did anything ambitious with my photography afterwards, I enjoyed taking them and regard the expense and effort as worthwhile. (Admittedly this was in mid-90s dollars, so a bit cheaper...)
