Laura , M might be able to get a rapid test through the VA, I tried to look for some info today but I was really distracted and M found a place and I guess called them and it was going to be $140 for the regular test. At the time I forgot that maybe he could try the VA for a test.
I can find places with appointments for Saturday but not for tomorrow.
I emailed mom and asked her what she and Dad and E would feel comfortable with.
He hasn't had any other symptoms and he is feeling almost like normal so I keep thinking maybe it was just as stomach thing.
I talked to Mom this morning and at first she said "come on but M stay home" and then later she said no, E has a cold (not covid, he was tested) and that it's probably not a good idea since I could get his cold and then spread it around work. So....that takes care of that.
I'm sorry, askye. I was never charged for a test. Grumbles. I thought it was free everywhere.
Waves pompoms high because today is Scrappy's birthday!! Wishes for a smooth closing and the very best year to come in your new home.
I think a lot of places are depending on your insurance and stuff. Although I did find one place that does mobile rapid testing but it didn't have information about insurance.
Oh dear, I'm trying not to eavesdrop but M's mom is on the phone on speaker with M's sister N. Her oldest son, who is just out of high school... his girlfriend is pregnant. N is on the phone crying right now, I feel so bad. Finding out your first grandbaby is on the way should be exciting but when you aren't even 40 and your son is barely out of high school and you've struggled most of your life and still feel like you are struggling and see that for your son and your future grandson it's more scary. She wanted him to go to college and do things she wasn't able to do.
Happy Birthday Scrappy!! It's a great day for a birthday!
So Mom and Scrappy share a birthday with Michelle Yeoh, Leslie Odom Jr, Lucille Ball, Robert Mitchum and Alexander Fleming (he discovered penicillin)
Three of my local friends have birthdays today too. Good day for human making for sure.
Askye, I'm sorry about M's nephew's situation. I hope they are able to work things out. This reminds me of my HS days. Like back in 1970, my HS Junior Prom King was the popular football star and the Queen the super stunning cheerleader. Both smart and college bound. They didn't come back senior year because he had to go to work and she stayed home with the baby. It was pretty stunning stuff at the time.
Thank you! I knew about Lucille Ball, but none of the others, so that was a cool thing to find out. Best gift I got from my husband—a t-shirt with the book cover of “Harriet the Spy” on it. Oh, and a NEW HOUSE.
Wooooot! Congrats. You did say you have a guest room, right? ;-)
Not sure I can take it any longer.
