Timelies all!
Yay for negative tests! (The post-bac in my lab was out sick the last two days. He got a COVID test, which was negative.)

Still no orders. Tomorrow is going to be ugly.
Yay shrift!
DHS announced last night that everyone must wear masks indoors. I've been in training this week on a govt facility, and we had to remind the trainer multiple times today to put her mask on. Despite the last 18 months, she was still incapable of keeping her mask over her nose.
WTAF.
I am so glad for all these negative tests. I feel like between the variant and the University everyone return to work August 2, these will be the last maskless days I spend, because we are mostly at the beach or still together in our pod.
Guys- my work friend recommended this thing called smash therapy. It was amazing. I smashed 35 dishes and 5 electronics with a variety of throwing, baseball bats, crowbars and a sledgehammer. It was amazing and I recommend. I think if you are already aggressive it might hype you up, but as an enraged little mouse, it was very releasing. I went with my BFFs 21 year old daughter but she just dropped it off, so it was a nice bonding experience too.
Years ago I heard about a shooting gallery where they'd provide targets but, if you wanted, you could bring in your own. Seemingly, the most popular one was copiers.
Ooh, that sounds so fun, Sophia!

I could totally see that.
Well, I have an upper respiratory funk that may be the thing Dana mentioned is going around, but I have a COVID-19 rapid test scheduled for tomorrow morning just in case.
I think a lot of people are going to get sick as we start traveling again.
Oh dear, my brother got fired last night. My sisters and I are torn between gratitude because he should have stopped working years ago, and concern that his health will spiral downward. He just last week agreed to stop driving because he was caught having absence episodes. He never admits to falling or other symptoms unless he is caught. He has MS and water on the brain issues. His employer has been incredibly tolerant with his deterioration. In recent years he had worked as security for a fancy gated development, after burnout in a career in addiction counseling. He drove around in a security car, until they moved him to the gatehouse because of mobility concerns. They said they had "complaints", which not surprising. His mental deterioration is significant. Rarely showers, increasing dementia, and other issues. The man is bat-shit crazy, but he is my kid brother so still broken hearted. He has no hobbies or interests anymore. His loved ones know this will no doubt hasten the end, but there isn't shit we can do about it.
Don't really need hair pats, just letting it out.
