I'll just jump in my time machine, go back to the twelfth century, and ask the vampires to postpone their ancient prophesy for a few days while you take in dinner and a show.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

when your ex needs to go to space about it, you won the divorce

BWAH!

amyparker, a soft day?

A good description - it's gray out, the harbor was fogged over this morning, it's cool enough to justify another mug of tea, and the rain is light enough that it barely requires a jacket. I like it.

JenP, hooray for meds and mash!

Jim is cleaning out his Gmail account. He was at 11GB and is now down to 5, nearly 100,000 conversations. He cleaned off the desk. There is a pile of broken electronics. Does this mean we're going to FINALLY deal with the office closet and the boxes that have been moved, unopened, over the last 7 years?

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Meanwhile, some of the smoke from the West Coast fires has drifted to the East, so we're having a hazy (if dry) day.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

a soft day

It's an Irish phrase. Stereotypical, even.

Mom is out of surgery, no surprises. Surgeon feels good about it.

I feel slightly better, I think no fever yet. Still no appetite and soooo tired. I am working from home today.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm glad the surgery went well, msbelle! Recovery~ma for your mother.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Great surgery news, msbelle!

I’m “hosting” a meeting that I have virtually nothing to contribute to. Thank goodness cameras are off, but I it’s been almost an hour and I am so bored and would like to go take a nap for lunch break.

Legend of Korra is making a lovely recovery day companion. This is my first time watching (finally). Just watched the first avatar origin story episode. Cool.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Soon I will be in the drugs and mashed potatoes phase.

Oooh, cool party theme!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

My usual Tuesday 1pm conference call is delayed until 1:30 today and I do not know what to do with myself. I keep catching sight of the time and panicking thinking I am late...
