Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

My sister worked retail for years ... hearing her stories left me with SO MUCH sympathy for retail workers. I make an effort to be nice to them, put things I decided against back where it came from (on occasion back where it should have been) and, when I tried on clothes (in the before times) I'd make sure they were back on the hanger and fastened as appropriate.

That is a big yikes, askye.

I'm trying to wrap up stuff at work while also working on the list of things I need to do before I fly on Sunday. I just contacted USPS about a package they claim was delivered but hasn't showed up, which was supposed to be jeans for me to try on so I'd have more outside clothes. Perhaps all my lists and careful planning is a way to exert control because of my anxiety about traveling for the first time since we went into stay-at-home, ha ha. (Okay, there's no 'perhaps'.) I need to keep patting that anxious little gremlin on the head and reminding it that I don't have to work for the next two weeks, won't that be nice?

Thrive to spite them

Toddaon we appreciate you.

The new store manager never gave us the benefit of the doubt. It felt like. Even though the managers kept saying the items had never been in our store and that is why we couldn't perform to watch we had been he was telling them no excuses.

But it's not an excuse. We could have used it as an excuse not to do our best...I mean there is now way we can meet that goal. But we didn't. AND we continued to out perform stores that have larger staff, sell more expensive items and weren't missing 6 pallets of stuff.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I have an uneasy feeling about this shirt. Am I over-reacting? [link]

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

$50/week is just not a lot of groceries. I think I figure this out every month and am sad about it every time like it's brand new information. Living within my means is hard.

Truth. Budgeting is the worst. I was only successful because I did the envelope system so when the monthly amount ran out, it ran out. There were a lot of months where the last week was literally beans & rice. And I remember well having to turn down meeting up with people because I just didn't have money for even one drink. I think anything that puts even a little bit back into your monthly allowance is worth looking into so I would definitely considering refinancing if you can.

No

Re mac & cheese ice cream. I'm no ice cream fan in general, but Salt & Straw has certainly converted me to at least trying "weird" flavors.

On the lighter side, I came across this. I think it would be a HOOT.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Argh, askye, how frustrating! Inventory that is supposed to be there and not is awful to deal with. That sucks that management didn't support you about it.

I did the cash in envelopes thing for quite a while back in the day and it was very effective but I don't do anything with cash anymore. My spreadsheet is working pretty well. There is a certain amount of willpower involved, which is not my strong suit, but I'm pretty well conditioned to not want those numbers to go negative at this point.

I got into very bad (i.e., pricey) habits because of the pandemic that's for sure. I was glad when at least the farmers markets went back to cash. But I still shop way too often at the Ferry Building market. I already have zero willpower when it comes to food, but now that I have to cook so much more (and am so tired of it), it's even worse.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Still sick. Will try taking Tylenol at beginning of day tomorrow also to stave off afternoon chills. My guess is some sort of mild bacterial either infection or virus or are those the same thing?
