We have a new Keurig-type coffee maker in the office (with people in, they needed a source of caffeine); it's a Flavia. It's not bad ... a distinct improvement on the old coffeemaker which was basically an industrial-sized Mr. Coffee. The coffee (we always got Folgers ... which was NOT the best part of waking up) would sit and get nasty. And people would take all but a tiny bit and leave it on the warmer to burn, stink up the area and solidify in the pot. The machine developed a serious leak, so we wouldn't be able to use it anyway; they decided on the individual coffee packs as a way to avoid contact between people through the coffee maker. I was the one who figured out how to use the milk froth pack ... which was nasty. And I've been running tutorials on how to use the machine (and refilling the water).
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Thinking about nitro cold brew made me look online for (non-nitro) cold brew coffeemakers, and I am cracking up at how this actual description of one of them opens: "Flavorful Cold Brew - Don't live in squalor by drinking a watered down coldbrew that tastes like a rain puddle." I feel seen. (And judged.)
I admit I just buy my cold brew—normally at Trader Joe’s but last night at the Safeway because I was there. And I was v amused—there’s a brand I’d seen before, Chameleon, that had a concentrated cold brew that said “makes up to 48 oz!” And it was $10.99. Then next to it there was…unconcentrated?…cold brew that was 46 oz and was $6.99 but on sale for $5. Tricky tricky!!
But I would still enjoy having nitro cold brew on tap.
The clafoutis was splendid. We ate some warm. I forgot to warn my roommate about the pits - oopsie.
Just came back from two days down the shore with relatives I've not seen in two years. It was pretty much bliss.
Back in (iirc) late February (it was very early on) I was chatting with a nurse running tests on me at my doc's office and she said she was waiting on getting the vaccine. She's African American and we're not friends... she's got ample reason to mistrust the medical establishment and this white lady stranger is not telling her otherwise. I made some noise along the lines of talking about it with whomever she needs to talk to. Hopefully as things proceeded so well she went ahead and go the injections. A friend of mine (herself Black) has been joking about doing a Public Service Announcement for Reluctant Black People. I tell her it would be brilliant.
I also made clafoutis, but we still have cherries left. Any other suggestions?
Get blueberries and make another one with a mix?

Lie on the couch and eat them by the handful.
That is my usual thing to do with cherries

May it go as easily as Matilda's did.
Speaking of whom: She hung out again after work again with her fellow counselor, Savannah.
I feel like the Count on Sesame Street, "That's Two TWO socializations! Mwahahaha!"
I'm debating on whether to go to Bardot A Go Go which happens every Bastille Day in SF.
I made meara go with me one year, and she gamely thrifted a sixties style go-go dress for the event. It's not just a groovy sixties dance party. It's a FRENCH groovy sixties dance party.
