Also happy hippocampus day!

I spent three hours at the lake- getting back to post COVID lake visiting every weekend day ( I can walk to the lake from my house) I have a new to me swimsuit which came to me when Maria’s mom passed away, so I felt weird wearing it with her, but she is happy I love the swimsuit so much. Oddly, it is not anything special in the bra department, but it makes supports and makes my boobs look so much better than the special DDD swimsuit from Lands End. But now I am a little sunburnt.

I also realized I am still so obsessed with Josh Thomas shows because there is no fan fiction for them. Usually I get obsessed with things, and then read fanfic until I am saturated, but there is literally like one real story about the show that isn’t G rated. Maria says that means I need to write fanfic, but I haven’t written fiction since 1988!

Our wings are not tired.

Feeling content and comfy in Otter Lake. Daily visits with my sister, including watching Leverage together. My niece coming over and cleaning my house. Last night I made dinner and brought it over to niece and nephew's house and visited with them. My son and GF have Wednesday off and we are making a plan. Childhood GF came over with a stack of pictures for me to scan for a slideshow for the local church's 100th anniversary. Not really a member, but I got married there in 1973 and my mom married my step-dad there. Happy to participate. It is just all so relaxed and normal. I've even seen a few prancing deer and fireflies! Today to clean the front porch so I can sit out there again.

And in what the hell is wrong with people news, my cousin is expecting her 2nd child in a few weeks and she posted a gentle message to all that they would love to see people after the birth, but only if vaccinated, and really masks would be appreciated too. Every single response save one was supportive and congratulatory except her cousin who replied "See u in our next life .....love and wish u the best". This dude in his 40s has colon cancer, his mother nearly died of Covid prior to the vaccine being available, and his wife and mother are both RNs and of course vaccinated! The hell, man! Although he lives close enough we rarely see him, and this reminds me why.

I am shocked by the RNs not vaccinated. People are literally dropping out of our school because we require students to be vaccinated. We are a nursing school.

Right! People who have seen first hand how devastating this virus can be. Complete idiots.

Taking a break from cleaning to watch Branson go into space.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

My plans to GSD today are not panning out. Got up and had breakfast and it was already uncomfortably warm, so I’m staying in veg-by-the-fan mode.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

We are under a heat warning so the cloud covering earlier was a nice surprise this morning when I walked the dog. Sun came out again.

I think we in western NY are going to get rain, and am supposed to go to my godsons outdoor birthday party. Also, how can he be 19!

My best friend's wife is one of these RNs, and she usually has a lot more common sense. I suspect the Woo Woo nurses must have chanced upon some really plausible-sounding explanation for why Covid-19 vaccination is bad and it's spread like wildfire to their more grounded co-workers. I don't know how you can ignore the fact that more than 99% of recent Covid deaths in the US are among the unvaccinated, but a frightening number of healthcare professionals seem to be doing so.

Yeah, I don't get it at all. My otherwise smart, normal, commercial airline pilot cousin won't get vaccinated.

She thinks her daughter had a reaction to a vaccine as a kid (acute, not causing any kind of syndrome), same now adult daughter had only a mild case of Covid and didn't infect her parents even though she was living with them at the time. Cousin doesn't "trust what it might do to her body" - said she'd rather contend with Covid than an "unknown." My mind boggles, but what can you do? There's so much to dismantle there.

Anyway the rest of her family got vaccinated, I believe -- like, her brother and his family, her mother/my aunt, husband, not sure about the grown kids. But anyway. Don't get it. Especially for an airline pilot.
