We went to the National Building Museum. They have an area where kids can build with foam blocks of various shapes and sizes.(Including ones that look a bit like Tinkertoys) Mr. S had fun there, as did Gary. Of course, once we got home Mr. S started going wild again.

Went to a party at a former boss's house today. Knew NO ONE, and it wasn't an especially socially adept crowd, so we said our goodbyes about an hour in and found a restaurant on the way home. Lovely Bayside home, though, and I added an osprey to my bird life list! So, that was a win.
Also, we have a chipmunk in our yard now. Holy hell, is it cute

I feel weird because I was so scared of TWOP back in the day, and now with podcasts I interract with so many of the OG TWOP people, Sarah D Bunting (sars) in particular because of true crime. I actually talked to her on zoom and I was verklempt! But it is so weird to be like, I feel like I have known you for over 20 years, but I am a lurker. And also I totally understand why TWOP, which is so big, had to be really hard as against natter, but of course natter is what I am here for! But so weird tat 20 years later, my podcasts are authored by the old TWOP crew…. Including NPR and Slate.

Lol I’m so glad I misread that about Naomi Novik, I was worried it wAs another JK Rowling situation and I would have to be sad. Much relief.

We are celebrating Independence Day with friends at a Brazilian steakhouse later.. Meat all around! Seems fitting.
Send the house sale ~ma my way. I just showed the house to a couple who are looking to move to my neighborhood to be near his parents as they have a toddler and want a bigger place. He actually found my website, perhaps the only person who ever has found it. The house isn't listed but he reached out to me to see if I was interested in selling. They seemed to like everything and really no other house has quite the location mine does for little kids since I am on a park with a great playground. Anyway, it would be really ideal to sell it without having to list it and have showing and all that.
Now that they are gone I am packing packing packing so I can get out of here in the morning.
