I haven't gotten to swim yet this summer, and it's bumming me out! I will on the 10th, because we're doing a family reunion at my nephew's house, and they have a pool. I guess I need to join the rec center or something. Community pool is an idea, but it's already halfway through summer, and, frankly, it seems expensive to me. But I've never joined a pool before, so what do I know?

I wish to live at the beach.

I get irked by the people who've decided they don't want to be vaccinated and then say they're being discriminated against. A hospital in Texas (I think it was) fired a number of nurses, etc., who refused to be vaccinated and they're suing. Bruce Springsteen opened in New York to vaccinated people only and there were unvaccinated people marching outside (closely packed, un-masked) calling it segregation. jeepers

That's good news, Sumi! I hope the treatment is minimally troublesome and completely effective.

I went to the doctor this morning, filled a prescription this afternoon, and I have some homework to do, but at least it's a start on the whole taking care of myself like an adult.

If anyone is low-carbing it and has some good resources or recipes they'd like to share, please give me a shout. My doctor recommended it after I specifically asked. Happy to report that she did not bring up weight gain or shame me in any way about it. I just don't want to replace a good chunk of my wardrobe.

Also, I'm curious to know how Sonic works out.

I'm applying for a job that I only sort of want, to make sure TPTB will accept me as qualified for the similar Job I actually want, which will come open in the near future.

I am nearing the end of my sentence - I was placed in 24-hour Facebook jail. I am now a repeat offender. A year or so ago, I used the phrase "white trash" (in reference to my cousin, though not to anyone's face) and I was warned. Then I used the phrase "Eat the Rich" (hyperbolically, obvi) yesterday and was placed in jail. So, FB's algorithm alive and well, protecting white and rich folks. Well done.

I have moved my shit from one cubicle to another and there it will sit, lonely and forlorn, until the end of August because our Back in Office day got delayed. I mean, I could go in before then but the magic 8 ball says signs point to no.

And when we do go back it will be 3 days in office 2 wfh (instead of the other way around) with the 2 being Monday and Friday, apparently. The flex part of this flex schedule is eroding. Not that it matters a whole lot to me personally but they went from “we want to accommodate your needs” to “that’s too needy, here’s what’ll happen” pretty fast.
