I’d think if they give you less than other people and it’s not enough for your commuting costs, that would be age discrimination. DC has pretty strict laws. You might point that out to them, that they wouldn’t want to be at risk of discriminating like that. Of course they wouldn’t.

Thanks for your support ... I'm hoping I can keep what I've been getting, but I need to hang on here, and making any kind of fuss (including an age discrimination suit) would be damaging to me.
