Our wings are not tired.

Continuing to send cool thoughts to all the A/C deprived Buffistas.

I did a site visit today in Sonoma County and GOT A TICK IN MY HAIR!!!! So upset.

Awful! I worry about them so when I go north. Ick Ick Ick

"We don't actually care what's better for you, we like butts in seats!"

Yeah, when I do have to go to an office I am at the point where I debate what is reasonable outside clothing.

The job offer is pretty great and I just accepted it.

Woot! That sounds quite exciting.

I was scheduled for jury duty today and am bummed that it was cancelled for my group.

A break from work to administer justice would be good.

It just makes me so freaking chill and contented. Pain? Eh, whatevs.

So sad that pretty much every pain killer out there makes me violently ill. So sad.

I've finally started watching What We Do in the Shadows. Delightful.

You guys are killing me. My TBW queue is already way too long.

I'm still up in the air for going north. Ugh. With further complication of taking a cat I took from my sister up to my son and GF. That means 3 cats and a dog to travel. DH and I will split them up, But still complex. Just need to be cloned. So much still to be done here, but I am normally gone by now. Frustrated.

Not doing a lot of watching things these days, but I've been going through the original Star Trek series, skipping any I don't want to watch. I'm really enjoying them. I'm sure I've seen all of them before, but I like to re-watch stuff, especially when I'm not paying full attention.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Congratulations, Gud!

We're talking about a 2-days onsite, 3-WfH at my job, starting in August/September. Eh, I won't hate it.

Being an extrovert but also someone who’s used to working from home for years I feel like 2 days on site would be my ideal. As long as I could pick and have it not be days I have meetings super early.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yeah, Tuesday being a core day is inconvenient for me because that's the day I have to start at 6 am for a particular deadline, although I will theoretically not have that task any more starting in August so EVERYTHING WILL CHANGE including, possibly, my schedule. But for the next couple of months, blergh. Fortunately, my commute should still be around 7 minutes, it's only a couple of miles to the office, but that is orders of magnitude harder than schlepping myself to my living room and not even getting dressed.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

I survived a RIF at work two weeks ago, have mixed feelings about that, and guilt about the mixed feelings. I've had to admit to myself that I'm only in it for the health benefits anymore.

Starting Tuesday 07 September, the plan is for everyone to be in the office Tues-Weds-Thurs and WFH on Fridays and Mondays. No restrictions required for those who are fully vaccinated.

Not sure how I feel about that, but it is over two months away. "The horse may learn to sing...."

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

My office is - in theory - everyone coming back in two weeks for a limited time and then half will work Monday and Wednesday, the other half Tuesday and Thursday and everyone work from home on Fridays. People who want to go full-time WFH can ask and it will be determined on a case by case basis. Two people have moved out of state, so they're full-time WFH, but I don't know how many will want to - and be allowed to - do the same.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

All morning I have been thinking "it's relatively cool today, I should be able to do some yard work after work" and then for the last half hour or so I am sitting here in my living room drenched in sweat from not moving at all so I'll be lying in front of the fan for a while. Darn it. Maybe closer to dusk I can get something done.

ETA: possibly more heat flash than environmental temperature, but my course of action does not change for that realization

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Gary's workplace, starting this week, is requiring everybody be in the office two days a week. In September their supposed to go up to full-time in the office. I've been in the lab full-time for a while.
