First, sending happy birthday wishes to JZ! May this day and the year to come be filled with love and joy.
Sending many cool thoughts in your direction. We get hot, but A/C is the norm. I didn't have AC in one house here, but it was totally shaded with fans and lots of windows. I didn't need it for years then got a window unit for the bedroom eventually.
I hate iur neighbor. I hate him. He hates this house and us because he thinks we are trash and the house needs repairs. It does. Also M is loud and used to sit on the backporch and smoke pot and watch anime and laugh which bothered the neighbor.
M doesn't do that anymore . He hates that he has to look at our trashcans out the side yard.
M's mom got a car and now we have 3 cars and he hates seeing the car parked in the yard in front of the drive.
So he is constantly harassing us. Not me M's mom over it. His latest is telling her if we don't park one of the cars on the street all the time (which he does for his ugly 2nd truck) or in our yard where he can't see it he is going to call the cops about the pot and have us all arrested.
I don't know how likely that all is but that ass bought a house on a zero lot line. There used to be 1 house on that lot and now there are 3. So his next next neighbor on the other side is 6 feet away. And has to share a driveway. He could park his truck in his back "yard" but then he'd have to look at it when he looked outside the back.
But he moves in and it has to be his way or the highway.
I'm going to find out if we are breaking any City ordinances about the cars and if he is breaking any.
And in the meantime if he ever moves his truck I'm going to take his preferred parking space on the street. Not that he ever moves it.
I think this latest round of his attacks happened because M's sister was over and we were sitting on the front porch and they started batching about him and I think he heard.
But I’m mostly worried about Monday-it’s one thing to lay around and sweat, another to need to do work!!
I was going to say that everyone should have the day off, because it's an extreme weather emergency, but I guess some people who don't have A/C at home would get it at work.
I can't remember if it was a blackout or just super hot one summer, but I remember going to Old Navy in Queens one hot day and realizing a LOT of people had that same idea. People weren't even pretending to shop.
In Florida you could always go to an air conditioned mall or movie theater to escape the heat.
Of course, it never gets super hot in Florida. But it doesn't matter when it's 95% humidity.
The first time I experienced 100+ temps in California it felt like nothing compared to 95 degrees/95 humidity in Florida.

Yes definitely—if I had an office I’d go to it!! And may go to the mall or the movies but pandemic makes it all a little more awkward.
Yeah, for a hot summer day in California you need sunscreen. For a hot summer day in New Orleans you need a mop bucket to be wrung into after you melt.
Yes, I can be drenched with sweat just waking from the driveway to inside. Last week when I woke early I thought I would go for a walk since it was only 81, but I opened the door and said nope instantly. Ick.
Yeah its crazy. I’m flying home from Missoula later today and by midweek the forecast has Missoula as a full 20+ degrees warmer than our place in Los Angeles. That’s insane!
Timelies all!
Temperatures here are supposed to be in the mid-to-upper 90s all week.(with high humidity because summer in DC) At least I won't have to be outside much.
