Wow. Ghost town on the board today. I can hear the wind whistle down the empty streets...

I got up early this morning because Brendon was up early. Figured I would take a walk before the sun came up. Ha! It is just too humid and hot. Not happening. I did dead head the flowers and got soaked with sweat. He got up to go do some stuff at an office before they got in and is now trying to do all the things before he gets his hand surgery. I've tried to make it clear that I can help him with whatever, or if it takes muscle one of the b-ball kids can do it. Still, he only has two modes, in motion or asleep. I predict a lot of naps in the near future. He is super concerned about going under, which understandable since he never has before. I can only drop him off then pick him up again in 2-1/2 hours since they are still under Covid restrictions.

I thought I had a therapy appointment today . I got a reminder but no email for the telehealth link ND no response to my text from my therapist.

Which part of my brain is like...he is ghosting you , he is tired of dealing with you...but the more rational part is hoping he is ok because this isn't like him

Yesterday was very hot and humid; we had serious thunderstorms last night and this morning it was pleasantly cool and less humid. In celebration - for the first time in over a year - I put on LIPSTICK.

I am happy to report that my children successfully got in two planes and flew to Boston and got picked up by their grandmother!

Woot! I hope they have a blast.

Owen is now DRIVING to summer school. Because he failed every online class last semester. But he has a summer job and is planning on doing well next year. The online pedagogical model is not for him. Oliver passed and is planning two weeks as a counselor in training at summer camp.

Excellent child launching, flea! May they have a bonny good time in Boston.

I'm ramping up my social schedule and it's good! Yesterday I had drinks with my friend Michelle, who is the mother of Matilda's friend, Cat. We try to get together quarterly for cocktails and catching up but had missed Winter (due to lockdown) and Spring (due to...business). But I went over to their house, and we sat on their beautiful third story deck, and her husband, Paolo, made cocktails for us (Thai Basil gimlets). Michelle is the one soccer parent I've managed to "keep" long after that activity.

And this morning I'm taking Emmett's bestie, Joey, out to brunch. He's a starving student teacher living in the city, and a cinephile. I'm taking him to Zazie and introducing him to Gingerbread pancakes.

ION, I was reading this tidbit in Variety and I wanted to share my outrage. They vetoed the producers of Harley Quinn from letting Batman go down on Catwoman!

“Harley Quinn” is also unique among the current crop of comic content in that its main character and all of her closest allies are villains rather than heroes in the DC canon. That allows the show to do different things with the characters that heroes simply cannot do — at least according to DC.

“It’s incredibly gratifying and free to be using characters that are considered villains because you just have so much more leeway,” says Halpern. “A perfect example of that is in this third season of ‘Harley’ [when] we had a moment where Batman was going down on Catwoman. And DC was like, ‘You can’t do that. You absolutely cannot do that.’ They’re like, ‘Heroes don’t do that.’ So, we said, ‘Are you saying heroes are just selfish lovers?’ They were like, ‘No, it’s that we sell consumer toys for heroes. It’s hard to sell a toy if Batman is also going down on someone.’”

Who knows, they might have extended their toy sales into the teen market.
