Thank you all. dcp, I may take you up on that.
I'm sitting here thinking "Have I left anything unsaid?" And the answer is "Hell yes, plenty of things." But my actual gender is none of his business and my actual belief system would make him think I'm going to the LDS equivalent of Hell. He knows I see him, and I love him. I'll grieve the father I lost to religion for the rest of my life, but I can show kindness to the man who took his place.
heavy sigh
mac still does not get it. He is once again failing his classes. He's been given the choice of figuring out how to pay his own rent and expenses (he does not make enough at his job, but could likely swing it if he got a roommate in his studio apt which is allowed) or move here and live with me and work full-time.
I am not thrilled with either option. I am worried about both options.
msbelle, I'm sorry. It's hard to watch and think "If you would just -" about your adult offspring.
YES! Just pass two easy af Community College classes a semester AND YOU HAVE SHIT PAID FOR!!! JFC. (to be clear, I do not take this tone with him)
Of course he is not responding to my texts.
I guess I should start really organizing the basement in case moving here is the choice.
I'm sorry, msbelle. I hope he gets his act together faster than my eldest.
amyparker, sorry to hear that. dcp, you are a good egg.
ugh, mac.
Amyparker, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. Thinking about you and your loved ones.
Also, msbelle, ugh. I don't even know.
And yes, Dcp is, as always, a good egg.
Much health~ma to your father, amyparker.
It has not been an easy year to be a student, and some schools are doing better in accommodating that than others. I hope Mac can find a way to move forward that isn't too onerous for you, msbelle.
