And you're sure this isn't just some fanboy thing? 'Cause I've fought more than a couple pimply, overweight vamps that called themselves Lestat.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm not sure how much more teleworking I'll be doing from now on, as the head of the lab wants all of us in the lab every day.(Not that I was doing much on the one telework day a week I got, as my job doesn't travel well)

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Three more signs of Spring:

  • the maple seeds are blowing around
  • the apartment complex mowed the grass for the first tine this year
  • I had to turn on the air conditioning

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

I've been working in the office one day a week in April, to be increased to M-W-F in May. Though I'm going to wait until the 2nd week of May so I'll have (nearly) 2 weeks after my 2nd vaxx shot. Everything coming down from corporate is about how they're going to "embrace" the new flexibility, but meanwhile my local site says M-W-F, no flexibility on hours (well, no, they'd let me come in earlier, but definitely no later). So, pretty typical - good catchphrases, little actual flexibility or accommodation. I'm trying to have a good attitude - I mean, before March 2020 I was never allowed to WFH in any way, so 2 days a week is pretty good. I guess I'm just a bit spoiled now. (No commute! No makeup! No shoes!)

I continue to work from home like usual. But I look forward to being able to work in cafes or cowork again! (I would totally go to the office a couple days a week if we had one)

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Drew, I just want to say you are the best theatre arts employer I have ever encountered! You supply laptops! You think of your workers. You are just the perfect person to own a sound business!

I am fully vaccinated, so now I am not so scared of the bus . My employer has no plan. They say they have a plan, but the plan on the website is basically, do what your boss tells you. I am planning on starting to go in again, because I hate my work from home set up and am losing my mind. I didn’t do it today because I had an 8-9 am zoom and a 4-7 pm zoom and not enough commute time to make both of those without staying in the office from 8 am - 8 pm.

My big problem is that I have lost my keys. I am pretty sure they are somewhere in my house. The Tile can’t find them, but it also needs replacement. I just don’t see where else they could be because I literally don’t go anywhere except the corner store, and I asked there. I guess they could be at the church from the funeral? It just seems more likely they are in my house. While searching, I did find my HSA bank card, my headphones, and several pairs of lost glasses.

Seriously.

Yay!

My big problem is that I have lost my keys.

Boo! Dammit, Tile! You have literally one job.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I guess they could be at the church from the funeral? It just seems more likely they are in my house.

At least that would just take one call/email to confirm.

So on Tumblr, it seems the Young People don't understand posts that say something like, "We're in the the second April of covid, but next week..." and then a picture of dry ramen. For NSYNC-era Justin Timberlake, for "It's gonna be May." I can't decide if the elders are letting down the next generation, or if JT should be forgotten!

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I've been coming in to the office almost every day all along (masking any time I'm outside home or office). I feel less concerned now that I've been vaccinated, but I'll keep on with the mask and social distancing as long and as much as possible (some people do not grasp the idea of social distance). Others have come in to the office as needed, but mostly not. Two people even moved out of state and are on more or less permanent WFH and I expect others will continue as much as possible. Some people have had miserable commutes, while mine has been fairly painless.

In regard to wisdom teeth removal - if the teeth have erupted, it's not bad. I had all four done in the dentist/oral surgeon office and got myself home afterwards, ate at a restaurant the day after (soft food, but still). Didn't have any problems except with the painkillers - had a bad reaction to them, but got through it. My sister, on the other hand, had all four impacted, one lying sideways. She's allergic to novacain and codeine, so she had a miserable time of it. So, you experience will depend on how bad the teeth are.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I know the meme, but I can't connect how ramen equals May.

Punishingly Intricate

This older elder doesn't understand either.

My company is letting us decide if we want to come back to the office full ym time, part time, or stay fully remote. I used to enjoy my once or twice a week train commute and seeing people but there's no real reason I can't be fully remote. (Also we are being subsumed into our parent company and loads of people are leaving. I'm starting to look plus am not 100% sure I'll have a job come September.)
