Happy 21st birthday to Cindy's Son!
I talked to Emmett yesterday and he had just gotten his first vax. His GF has had both already, and so has his roommate and his GF. So his whole household will be jabbed, and we can see him more often.
I've asked him to come down for Matilda's Wisdom Teeth surgery, as she's getting very anxious about it.
Thanks, everybody. The birthday boy is still sleeping, as is fitting at 21.
David, when does Matilda have her teeth out? Is she having all four at once?
I'm happy to hear Emmet's been jabbed. Everyone in our house has had two shots. My oldest son gets his second this coming Thursday. My mom has been fully vaccinated since late February, so we're doing Mother's Day together, even though my oldest will be only be 11 days post-shot-2.

June 11th, all four. I'm anxious about it too.
It does feel scary, but it will be okay. Mine were impacted, so they put me under (day surgery at the hospital), but my kids had theirs out at the dentist's office. Tylenol took care of the worst of it. They were a little uncomfortable for a few days.
I think all four at once are the way to go. You have the same restrictions as to what you can eat, how you have to gently rinse, not use a straw, etc. If you have all four out at once, you only have to recover once.
If you have all four out at once, you only have to recover once.
Emmett had all four of his out, and he bounced back the next day and was fine.
But he's a beast of ridiculous vigor.
The worst part for me was they gave me Tylenol III -- the prescription with codeine. I spent a day or two crying and nauseated, and finally told my mom I wasn't taking them anymore.
Timelies all!
Got woken up at 6 by Mr. S. ugh...
I took the tylenol with codeine home and saved for cramps, because I didn't need it after the wisdom teeth came out. But mine weren't urgent, so the procedure was pretty easy. (I did it for money as part of a tylenol study, post college.)
Mine were after college (Vortex picked me up after!) and I remember taking the Vicodin, and the last one I took I was like "huh, I guess I could see why people abuse these, maybe? I guess I didn't really need this one" :)
Was supposed to have a puppy play date, but canceled because of the rain (the park will be a muddy mess) which was good because I did not drink enough water last night during the spa experience and woke up with a headache. Got up and had breakfast, and then went back to bed. Puppy is being very sweet and sleepy with me. I woke up a few hours ago and proceeded to watch tiktok for two hours. Probably not good for me.
Chatting with an NP friend around the fire pit last night and I mentioned your daughter's nose dive, Cindy -- she said she'd had 10 patients this week who hit the floor and said it's not unusual at all. She laughed because when they started giving the HPV vax however many years ago, there was this same "is there something wrong with the vax?" reaction from people, but that's just what we humans do after being stuck with a needle, sometimes.
My sister called the oral surgeon and fixed it so that when they finally coaxed me into the chair for a "check up" they whipped out the teeth. Since I get sick if I am in the same neighborhood as anesthesia or any opioid, my revenge was throwing up in her car all the way home. Sucker!
