I'm pretty sure typing was a required course at my high school (in the early-mid 80s) for which I'm deeply grateful. We used to have the typewriter my grandmother got when she was in secretarial school that had unmarked keys. I'm not sure where that ended up, though.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
JenP, Epic's right; you might also see if FB has a specific local group just for boxes - there's one here, and I found all the boxes and packing material I needed for my last move on it, then got rid of all of it the same way. I'll use it again when we move next year.
When I moved out of my old apartment, I had some extra boxes ... they were an odd size, but perfectly good boxes. I left them down by the recycling bin, but told other move-outs about them, so I'm pretty sure they were used.
In re typing - I'd learned how to type in high school ... got to be pretty good at it. I went off to college with my mother's 1930s L.C. Smith typewriter, but got a new manual one for Christmas that year.
Thanks, amyparker. I submitted to join my local group, but if no one wants the boxes, I'll def see about a specific moving group. I have packing paper, too, that can be reused, so this will be great.
If there's a Freecycle group around you, you might see if anyone in it wants the boxes.
Happy to help!
Just got my appointment for my first shot! Nothing on the island, but there's a general surgery 25 miles away in Silverdale that's offering them, and I seem to have beat the rush: everyone else over 18 is also eligible on Thursday.
Well the virtual conference started today ... I was supposed to monitor one session that required a special registration and, of course, I wasn't on the registration list. I'd reminded the person in charge of registration to put me on the list Friday, but ....
It looks like the surprise assignments will be manageable ... tedious but manageable. I just wish I'd had a little advance notice and a little more info as to what was expected of me. sigh ....
Big Yay for stabination!
Big Boo for tedious assignments.
A little tedium I can deal with, it's the "surprise!" assignments that get me.
Yeah surprise party or surprise bonus are okay, but surprise assignments suck.
