Our wings are not tired.

Poor DH is kinda wiped out from his first shot, and super frustrated because he normally goes 100 mph all day. He got up at 6 or so, went and got 7-11 coffee, took out the trash, and maybe did a couple other things, then napped 2 hours. Got up and made himself breakfast and has been chair bound since. He is hating it. I'm able to relax and chill, read, watch tv. He doesn't know how to do that.

ION, I made super tasty soup in my quest to keep my fiber and protein numbers up. Started with canned butternut squash soup, added curry powder, lime juice, chickpeas, and avocado and stick blended it all. So yum. I do love soup.

Ugh, that is stressful. I hope it's been resolved. We accidentally had a bluetooth crossover this morning. DP rarely uses the headphones, but he did for a call this morning, but neither of us disconnected my computer from them, so we had some momentary confusion when I started my call halfway through his. But, easy enough to fix.

JenP, I find "powder room" so charming. Glad your neighbors are nice!

Hee, I do, too, -t! And thanks!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It would be hard to overstate how little I want to work today.

Saaaaame. Luckily, I puttered my way through the morning OK and have an afternoon full of meetings, so I'm sort of off the hook. Although I should get one thing going that I avoided doing on Friday!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

If anyone is wondering, the price changes that were supposed to take effect on Thursday have not, in fact, all gone according to plan. So surprising.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Ugh, that is stressful. I hope it's been resolved.

JZ was able to heroically go through the school district website to find the Digital Resources phone number, and they got an IT guy to walk them through it. Zoom had been updated, and for some reason, didn't like her profile, so they had to tweak something that was completely non-intuitive but now it's up and running again.

Laura let me know if you want the info of my Spanish teacher—I do Skype classes with teachers in Colombia (had one who recently moved to the US to be an au pair, now have a different one). They taught at the language school I went to there, so know teaching, not just “I speak it so surely I can teach it”. It’s about $12-13 an hour.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

I WANT A ROAD TRIP

That is all.

(Really, though, I have an extremely cute car and I want to drive it, with the roof open under a blue sky, and happy music playing, and the option of questionable choices from food trucks I haven't seen before.)

Our wings are not tired.

Thanks, meara. My DIL's mother is a Spanish teacher in Florida Virtual School and my niece up north is a HS Spanish teacher. I have the Rosetta Stone stuff I have started a few times, but get distracted by life. I should see if FL Virtual allows adults in the program. I might stick to it more if I was enrolled. It's 100% a matter of me just doing it.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm glad you're able to help your friend's mom. Sophia. It's interesting, the things people focus on at that stage of life.

I think it's great that your grandchild will grow up learning two languages, Laura. I wish I had. Mom taught Spanish and lived in South and Central America for a goodly while, but for whatever reason, I was brought up monolingual. And wow, am I bad at trying to pick up new languages as an adult.

I am amazingly tired today. The very wine-forward 5-hour lunch I shared with a couple of friends yesterday (outside, well distanced) might have something to do with it. I just want to grab a cat and provide a soft stomach for it to lie on while I nap on the sofa. If only there was a career path that featured such activities.

Five hour wine forward lunch sounds both amazing and exhausting!!

t's 100% a matter of me just doing it.

Hah, for me too (a little was for conversational fluency but a lot of it is more trying to remember things I knew once upon a time). In theory I could probably do better in some ways, if I sat down and studied a grammar book. But I know I won’t, whereas if someone is waiting for me online, I’ll show up!
