Willow: Something evil-crashed to earth in this. Then it broke out and slithered away to do badness. Giles: Well, in all fairness, we don't really know about the "slithered" part. Anya: No, no, I'm sure it frisked about like a fluffy lamb.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

It was Boseman's last movie and he was incredible in the part. Viola Davis is just amazing, and nearly unrecognizable. Impressive. I want to see One Night in Miami--for Aldis Hodge and Leslie Odom, Jr., both of whom I like a lot.

All this medical catch up has been a bit dizzying. I had to cancel a dental appointment tomorrow because I'm having cataract surgery. Wish my surgeon sharp eyes, steady hands, and no "Oops" es, please, along with any bit of ~ma you have lying around.

My second shot is exactly fifteen days before my rescheduled mammo. They tell me it can cause some random suspect things to show up in the images, but they said, since it's been postponed four months already, to come in and have it done--if necessary they can repeat.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My missing friend was found by his brother and is in the hospital. No further details, but I am so happy.

Oh, that is such good news!

Good luck with all of that, especially the surgery, Beverly! I have heard great things from people post-cataract surgery.

Our wings are not tired.

Also, a nice neighbor stopped by with a hanging plant for our backyard, some cupcakes, and a lovely card! I was taking a nap, but DH spoke with her.

Nice neighbors make such a difference.

Great news! Also, it is a wonderful thing you are doing for Maria's mother. Helping her in her final preparations brings her peace and comfort, which is priceless.

Eye~ma in abundance, Beverly. Like Jesse, I know many people who were so happy post surgery for cataracts.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I had cataract surgery a while ago. It's been a great improvement - I can now walk around without glasses most of the time, although I still need them for much reading and to drive legally. My doctor would only do one eye at a time, so I had a two-week period when I had real problems - the eye that had been operated on couldn't see with my old glasses and the eye that hadn't been operated on couldn't see without them. BUT ... in the end I ended up with better eyesight, so it was more than worth it. (I had a neighbor who saw me going around without glasses and kept asking me about Lasik ... and I had to explain each time that I hadn't had that, but a much more invasive operation that he wouldn't want until he actually needed it.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Surgery~ma, Beverly

So glad your friend has been found, Sophia!

Our wings are not tired.

Why for Monday? I need a day of rest.

Today my DIL goes back to work after her 16 week maternity leave. Son gets 7 weeks so he took 2 when the baby was born and now he is going to be home for the next 5 weeks. After that she has a friend who has a handful of little ones in home daycare and he'll go there. The caregiver gave her the option of speaking to the baby in Spanish or English, or both. They have decided to have her speak exclusively in Spanish to give a more distinct language learning environment. The baby has a bilingual mother and grandmother; other grandmother is a HS Spanish teacher. He has baby books in both languages. Tate had daycare with her Spanish speaking grandfather but has lost much of it and hopes to make it stick better with the baby. Summer project for this Gram, try again to learn Spanish! I took 3 years of French in HS, as did my son, but I'd be lucky if I can count to dix now.

It would be hard to overstate how little I want to work today. I have looked at my emails and contemplated my tasks and my Do Not Want levels are very high indeed.

Sophia, it's lovely that you are able to help Maria's mom get a funeral dress, it's clearly important to her. I'm also glad, from the sidelines, that b.org was able to help a little - it seems like the sort of task we are well suited lend assistance!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

-t same same same. So far I am doing the minimum. I would rather straighten my room and office. I’ll likely end up halfass doing work and straightening.

Sophia, good news on the found friend front, and I hope things go well/get better for him as he needs. What you're doing for Maria's mom is so kind and full of love.

Beverly, all the good surgery ~ma your way. Add to the list my mom who was so pleased after her cataract surgeries.

Nice neighbors make such a difference.

It is a novelty in my long apartment dwelling history, so I'm happy!

I, too, have a lot to do today when all I really want to do is watch the birds and record them on eBird. I think I'm finally getting a legit hobby at 53! About time. But I did clean the powder room this morning and I've had one work call, so. Now I need to take my medicine and then make a bunch of onerous calls. Then I go get blood work and go shopping, so that'll be fun on such a beautiful day.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Easy peasey, routine surgery, -ma for Bev.

Great good news, Sophia!

It's cold, gray, Monday and the day after Spring break, so we are all rousing slowly, like growly bears emerging from their caves.

But Matilda just went out the door to do her run, and I'll be going after she gets back in.
