Way to go askye!!
'Shindig'
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
askye that is so great! I'm very happy they recognize how much you deserve this.
Vaccination news is such a good thing!
Toddson, thanks so much about that heads up on vaccine possibly affecting mammo results. Mine is scheduled two weeks after my second shot so I will call and ask should I reschedule later.
I grew up in the town (Winston-Salem. Yes, the RJR Tob Co was largely responsible for the town's existance and the cigarettes were named for the two townlets that became one) where Krispy Kreme was invented. Saturday mornings were terrific when my dad took me with him to the store and we would watch the doughnuts coming off the tractor beam conveyor belt, and we'd pick out a dozen varieties to take home. My favorite was always just the plain glazed donut. School sold boxes as fundraisers, boxes came to cub scout meetings, PTA meetings, church ice cream socials when every other baked good was homemade. And romantic dates often started with a night-time trip to KK to watch the donuts being made, order coffee and a donut to linger over before the movie.
Dunkin's good for stuffing and floof and sprinkles.
We've lived here thirteen years. I've purged and donated and orged and purged and donated and so has H. Right now the giantic onerous tarot purge and reorg I started a year ago is still all over the rarely used dining room table and chairs, and the even more onerous office and walk-in closet purge and reorg stalled mid-lockdown and now I'm dressing from the chairdrobes of clean, folded laundry because I need to go through both dressers and ... purge, so I can onload the clean laundry into, like, drawers. And the office--oh my. Stuff H brought back from his mom's house that I had no place except the corners of the room and under my desk...still waiting. Why is it so hard? And poor H--he can't even get into his workshop because of all the never putting anything away and buying a new one when he can't find the old one. We both need a minder, is what it is. A coach and a minder.
We've lived here thirteen years.
I know this is true, but in my head you still just moved across country.
For donuts I miss good apple cider donuts
But as for Krispy Kreme and Dubkin sometimes I want one and sometimes the other. Although Krispy Kremes aren't as great the next day as Dunkin donuts are.
Same, Drew. I guess time does fly when you're happy.
Thirteen years seems impossible, wow.
We're basically done packing! Some quick morning stuff, because, you know, we need to sleep and ablute, but other than that... done. Whew. Fingers crossed for smoothness tomorrow, which I do anticipate. As I said to DP earlier, "I just realized I have to UNpack all this crap next. WHAT."
Our lease isn't up until March 31, so I can take my time on coming back to clean (a bit -- we're using their cleaning crew to avoid any steep cleaning costs), empty the fridge (which is pretty well empty), grab two paintings, and then do the walk-through with one of the mangers. I'm leaving a chair and a step stool here along with some cleaning supplies, vacuum, and trash bags, but that's it. I'm actually glad we have the extra week, or else I think I would be stressing about all that right now.
So, time to chill and unwind, then sleep.
Happy moving ~ma!
I went and got blood drawn this morning. My doc wants to make sure I have appropriate antibodies now or some such. Also the usual checks. Eh, we'll see what it all looks like.
Movers called and are fifteen minutes out, woot!
Good luck, Jen! I'm glad you get the extra time. That overlap makes it easier.
