I'm not sure I have ever had one. There is Dunkin all around me, but I haven't lived close by a Krispy Kreme. My best donuts are from Dandee Donuts, which I think are only in FL and MA.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.

Happy birthday, Volans!
I went out and voted. I try not to dread too much the exit polls and remember how it all can change by tomorrow morning, but so many How It Might End options are not encouraging (including another round of elections this summer, because it worked so well so far?) so I dread both the exit polls and the actual results.
Yay for voting, Shir. I hope it turns out well.
Cindy, milk always smells bad to me too. I think I psych myself out. Like I could make a bowl of cereal, eat it no problem, not think anything about the milk but if you then handed me the carton to sniff I’d be like “mmm, smells like it could be bad...”
Exactly, meara. If you even put the suggestion in my head, it smells bad to me.
Good luck, Shir
Happy Volans day!
I got my appointment with the DMV! after ... I've lost track of how long ... I contacted my Councilmember's office and within half an hour received a call from one of her staff and half an hour after that had an appointment. Such a relief! (took longer to get a DMV appointment than it did to get vaccinated)
I've never understood the craze for Krispy Kreme doughnuts. They taste vaguely artificial to me, and I'm not a fan of their foam cushion texture/consistency either.
Same here. I've had 'em hot and cold, and they always taste like overly sweet, greasy air to me. Dunkin's way better. Lud's Donuts in Alpena were the donuts of my childhood, and Dunkin's is, if not the same, at least much closer.
I feel very fondly toward Krispy Kreme because I don't think I've ever paid for one. When they (and I) were in NYC, I walked by a couple of times when the HOT DONUTS sign was one, tried to buy one, and they just gave it to me for free!
Shir, our news is saying Netanyahu's party wins the most seats in Israel's election but falls far short of a majority per exit polls. So, same old same old?
Per exit polls: 5th election round is a year or less away. Let's see what the results will be tomorrow.
I miss having a stable government.
Edit with explanation: It was always clear that the Likud will win majority of votes, but what is always unclear is whether Netanyahu will be able to form a coalition. The winner of the election (the party who gets majority of votes) gets to try and form a coalition. If they can't do so, the President can give this mandate to another member of parliament who is likely to succeed. In the past three election rounds, Netanyahu failed to form a stable government and coalition. So, not too optimistic here.
{{Shir}} Yes, there is a lot to be said for stability.
