And in another post: I have a favor to ask. I have an academic international workshop (my first!) on Thursday next week. And I didn't speak English in the past year+ for more than 5-10 minutes on Zoom at a time (generally speaking, I didn't speak much in the past year, between not leaving my home and not seeing anyone, or seeing people over Zoom and not speaking much there as well, because Zoom).
I'd like to dust off my conversational skills in English. If anyone is interested to help me with this over Zoom, my email is in my profile. Thank you.
Oh ffs, I just learned that my essential employee letter from last April qualified me for the vaccine already. I am now pre-registered for one of the mass sites and am trying to change my info with Walgreens.
That's good news, though!
Yeah, it took my a while to realize, duh, I have hypertension and I qualify.
I'm not qualified because I foolishly lost 50 lbs. What was I thinking?!
I got Matilda up at 7am this morning for her early morning run with Iris. I'm still happily boggled that she's maintained her discipline with this.
Iris' family are off to Mexico over spring break and I'll be dogsitting their dog, Cupid, for a couple days. Cupid loves me because I sneak her turkey.
Cashmere will be happy to know that Matilda's added lifting a 5 lb hand weight while she's watching anime now. She lifts with one arm for an entire episode then switches to the other arm for the next episode.
I think the anime may have inspired some of the exercise desire. In the shows she watches everybody's training all the time. I don't love the low level sexism in a lot of anime, but I do appreciate them pushing the value of hard work and improving yourself.
But does Matilda Naruto run? Seriously, I'm glad she's really digging in on this, too. It seems like the sort of habit that's great to start when young.

You and me both. (Well, not 50, 20-25ish, but knocked my BMI down *just enough*), that, with being 3 months shy of 50 (Hi, Steph!) and my asthma being very mild seems to be implying that I won't get jabbed until it's open to the general populace.
But does Matilda Naruto run?
Heh! More like Phoebe in Friends.
Buffista parents have probably already seen the new CDC guidelines for physical distancing in schools? 3 feet between masked students is the updated recommendation, which means both of mine will probably be going back in person in April!
Still 6 feet for middle and high schools, though, “when community spread is high,” which it is in my city. We have to decide by Monday. I’m leaning Casper (the senior) goes back and Dillo (9th grade, has gym and study hall so useless exposure) not.
