Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

And I'm now very happy I wasn't able to get the shingles shot yesterday, because they've just moved the eligibility for anyone with 2 comorbidities to 3/31!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Got more details and dad's surgeon is happy with the new stent and also how the old stents and bypass are holding up, so yay for all that!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Nice! (I know I said yesterday "If they move it earlier, do you think it'll be before 3/31?", so I was basically daring fate with that.)

Right on!

You dared it in the right direction, so that's a good thing!

What is even happening?

Matt, I got my 1st Moderna shot last Thursday.

My husband (almost 57 y.o.) and mom (84) got their Pfizer shots on (I think) February 4th and February 25th (I know they reached full immunity the day I got my shot).

They really only had sore arms, and slight headaches after both doses. At the appointment for the second shot, the nurse gave mom a bottle of water to drink while she waited the 15 minutes after, and told her to push fluids (and take Tylenol if necessary). Mom was a few hours ahead of DH, so I passed on the advice.

My son's 24 y.o. girlfriend is a nurse. She got her vaccines a couple of months ago (also Pfizer). She felt a little flu-y (elevated temperature, general blahs) on the day after her second shot. My general understanding is that younger people feel more side effects. Still, she only needed to take one day off from work and then felt fine.

Why were you hoping to get Moderna?

I had my second dose yesterday at noon. Definitely starting a couple hours later my arm hurt a lot, but unlike the first time it also extended into feeling like my lymph nodes under that arm too? And this morning I was OK, but then this afternoon I've been achy and tired. Not too bad, really, though.

What is even happening?

I had the pain in my lymph nodes (kind of near the top of my left lat) after my first Moderna shot, meara. I was dog tired too, but I can't be sure that was the vaccine. I don't sleep well the night before I have to go somewhere.

I'm glad you're all dosed up!

move out and draw fire

OMG my lymph nodes after the second shot. They all lit up on that side, including ones I didn't know I had (ribs and groin). That faded, then next day at the same time the ones nearest the shot site raged again. Repeat, but with just a "yeah we are still cranky" from the armpit on the 3rd day.

Our wings are not tired.

Most excellent news, Susan and -t!

I can't complain at all about either of my vaccine jabs. A bit of a sore arm, a bit tired, a bit of a rash. All forgotten and replaced by a lightening of stress.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I got a vaccine appointment! Earliest I could find was April 2, so I took that one. And it's a Friday, so if I do have a bad reaction, I'll have the weekend to recover.
