((Susan)) Sometimes crying in the car over something that seems like it should not be that big a deal is the best thing you can do.
Thanks, everyone.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Jesse Washington is way behind--I only got mine because of volunteering, not because I'm otherwise eligible!
Booo. I guess we've caught up here, after the total shitshow at first.
I will be voting to remove every single asshole on the school board. Looks like elementary will reopen in April.
This is the school board that was on mic saying that it's loser parents who want to send their kids to school so they can get baked, right?
FCPS is mandating in-person for everyone in the fall. I'm mostly okay with this, but I wish there were a way to offer a range of solutions. I suspect that one of the main drivers for the decision is the way VA handles No Child Left Behind - schools get funding based on their test scores (the SOLs, amusingly), and most SOLs are being cancelled this year because porting classroom teaching directly online didn't work. The students demonstrably learned almost nothing, so they'd fail the SOLs, so the school funding would be cut.

That was Oakley, which is Bay Area, but not SF. Still not cool.
Timelies, all.
They all resigned.
-t, lots of health~ma to you dad.
Until now, when the end is maybe-sorta-kinda in sight but there's lots of uncertainty and moving parts, and I'm suddenly sitting in the parking lot of a grocery store trying not to cry because their pharmacy sent an ill-advised auto-text they weren't in a position to follow through on.
I'm sorry and I can relate. I was so stressed in the maybe-sorta-kinda in sight times three weeks ago and whenever the tiniest thing got not according to plan I was very, very frustrated (the place of where I got the second shot and the appointment for it changed twice, once without a notice and a second time to a place that was inconvenient but there was nothing I could do about it).
Sending all kinds of health -ma your dad's way, -t.
My kids' high school is having a prom. Seniors only, on a riverboat, dinner (hmmm) and dancing. I've been on one of these riverboats and there's a top deck that is totally open air, so that makes sense for dancing. The dinner part is usually on a lower deck and technically indoors, and of course that's the sus part. I wish it did not include dinner, but I don't see how I can deny my senior the chance to go if she wants to.
I still don't know what I'm going to do about school in person. There's a virtual meeting with the principal tonight. We need to turn in forms tomorrow.
Dad’s in surgery. Mom says he sounded good before. I’m supposed to be working now...
