I think because it was a budget thing, it only needed a majority in the Senate.
The test is going to be when HR1 gets to the Senate. It's a voting rights bill, and the way we've worked before, it would be open to the filibuster. Apparently President Senator Manchin has said he's open to modifying how the filibuster is applied, so maybe that'll get through? Here's hoping.

Yeah, as I understand it we're deeply screwed for at least a decade if HR1 can't make it through the Senate because there are enough GOP-controlled state houses to gerrymander the shit out of the post-census redistricting that they could make retaining control of the House nigh impossible for the Democrats.

I'm pissed off that Ohio says that people with asthma are eligible, but then if you read all the details, it's only people with asthma who've been hospitalized because of it within the past year. There was at least once last September or so when I probably should have gone to the ER, but didn't, because THERE WAS A DAMN PANDEMIC AND I DIDN'T WANT TO GET EXPOSED.

There's one state (can't remember which) where people with cystic fibrosis are eligible only if they're also over 50, and, well, most people with cystic fibrosis don't live to 50.

I bought a Roomba at Costco two weeks ago and it's still in the box. This is making me question my commitment to it so it may be headed back. They have an exercise bike I've had my eye on that's about the same amount of money. (See above re chonkiness.)
