One of Dillo’s friends is in the Cincinnati trial for 12-18. We tried to get in but they were full, but then they called me asking if I had any children 11 or younger, so they are going to start child trials soon.

What is even happening?

Pfizer is currently authorized for ages 16 and up, with Moderna and the one-shot Johnson & Johnson for 18 and up.

The word here in MA, and maybe elsewhere as well?, is to go directly to the CVS site early in the morning.

Thank you for the tip, Jesse, because I've had no luck. Did your mom get her vaccine?

Yeah, I'm sure they're working on children's trials--you could check clinicaltrials.gov if you wanted to see if there's any enrolling near you.

This whole rollout is crazy--and it feels like Washington is really slow, which is inexplicable. We're usually pretty good? We have techies? We have amazon? C'mon guys! Even with the recent updates, it's still only down to like "people with multiple comorbidities on the list" (not just one) at the end of April??

I am hoping that the big vaccine clinic at the football stadium will help. I signed up to volunteer there next Saturday.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yep! Second dose a week from Monday!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Such an empty Natter!

Matilda has been slowly climbing out of her lockdown induced depression. Between the weekly jewelry class with Parks and Rec, and her recent (month ago) decision to start running before Zoom School every morning she's finding enough things to provide some buoyancy. And she's gotten one of her two bubble friends, Iris, to run with her twice a week, which makes Iris's mom thrilled.

So, it's just good to hear Matilda busting out in hearty guffaws as she watches incessant anime and forcing me to watch never ending TikTok memes about said animes. I do not begrudge one instant that I'm driving her to Japantown on Fridays to spend her babysitting money.

Jesse, I'm so glad your mom gotten her first shot. I felt so relieved when mine started.

Do you (or does anyone in Mass./or who's booked through CVS) have any idea of what time people mean by "early"?

I tried at 6:00am, today, but had no luck. It could be that they don't update on Sunday. It could be that I should have tried at 5:00am. It could be that I should be trying at 7:00, when I was sitting here trying to decide if I should ask.

Hec, I'm glad to hear Matilda is finding some light.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'm so glad to hear that Buffistas are getting vaxed up. R, my roommate, has an appointment through MIT Medical for March 28th. (This is someone 65yo, with several serious comorbidities.)

My toe in the water of The After Times has been to go to a thrift store. They don't actually let you try on the clothes.

My MA info is CVS, 6am every day. But maybe not Sundays?

JenP - Mar 07, 2021 5:46:27 am PST #4257 of 29989

I tried CVS again yesterday, but they still aren't accepting comorbidities in Virginia. Ah, well. The county has moved to scheduling 1/19 finally. I'm 1/22.

We made corned beef the other night, and I made hash yesterday, and today were having a corned beef hash omelet, and it is so good.

That does sound fantastic.

JZ and Matilda are off to (COVID cohort, outside) church, after which Matilda will meet up her (masked up) friends MI and Ruby. This is only the second time she's hung with MI and first with Ruby, and they are the only two people she knows from her school. This will be the second time in the last month she's gotten to hang out with a few more of her friends.

SF has recently dropped from the purple to the red tier, and is trending down towards the orange tier (second safest). Test positivity rate is down to 1.2%, and cases per 100K is down to 6.6.

I'm hoping to get jabbed by April once they work their way through the teachers, and drop down an age group.
