Also, congrats to Brenda on the job news as well as everyone who is getting vaccinated or making appointments! I can't wait to get mine but I'm also not looking forward to the nightmare that making an appointment seems to be.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm pretty much waiting for Kaiser to tell me when I can get vaccinated and assuming that will be a long wait. Maybe they will surprise me!

I'm Kaiser too, but I haven't figured out how they are going to work it (most of their messages seem to be about not having supply) and thought maybe I should also proactively try elsewhere once 1C slots open up. I also have the separate issue of the Math Greek not being an official resident so I'm not sure we can even get him one here or whether he has to go back to L.A. for it or what.

Brenda, even more congrats hearing about the process!! Obnoxious that the useless mediocrity got to have the job for a few years first doing nothing, though. Also, ahhhh, Pat Riarch--now that you say that I recall, but hadn't thought about them in years!

Welcome back Megan walker! And no, for some reason I did not remember that about JenP! But now I know!

I'm vaguely annoyed, the clinic that I volunteered at to get my Dose 1 shut down, and is relocating to the football stadium (it was at a local college). They emailed everyone and said "if you got Dose 1 here, you can come back on March 17th, and fill out this form, and we'll give you an appointment, you have to come that day and by appointment and we can't promise any specific time, just tell us if you want afternoon or evening or morning. And if you can't come that day, you'll have to find it elsewhere". Except everywhere else is pretty firm that you have to be in the approved groups (I'm not) and some don't even have "second dose" as an option, because they assume you'd only be doing that if you also did first dose there. UGH. Hoping they don't send a terrible timeslot? Also annoyed because I had hoped to do it on a Thursday maybe, and take Friday off in case of side effects.

Good luck, meara. I hope it works out ok!

Oh, yeah, same here. I'm just assuming that since they are managing to get currently eligible people shots now, if slowly, they have some kind of system in place and will eventually get to me. I may get antsy an start looking for other options before they do, but I'm not there yet.

Small World: One of my Kenyon friends from my alumni group is related to Cashmere by marriage! So that was weird seeing his name pop up on her FB comments.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Congratulations, Brenda!

And I'm so sorry, msbelle.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

OMG that was a lot of catch up on. Random Meara ahead, in no particular order and surely leaving things out:

msbelle, I’m so sorry.

Congrats to meara and Brenda!

Hi megan!

Yes, I went to a party with meara two or three years before we met here - sadly we did not meet there nor is she in my pics from that night, because I checked.

Yes, I know a friend of brenda’s IRL through my NOLA volunteer work.

Yes, I did play sports with Jesse’s cousin.

A guy I went to hs with once messaged me to ask if this [vw bug] was good people, because she was dating his coworker. I replied in the extreme affirmative, of course.

Calli, thank you for sharing your story about reading to amyth. Glad you could spend time with her.

Shir, I have told T that if anything is needed, for amyth or for them, that I will light up the Buff signal, so to speak. Either there’s nothing they need or they are too exhausted to articulate it; I hope it’s the former.

This isn’t a b.org connection, but a friend I made on lj (and have met IRL) has a sister who’s a colleague in my industry and we are fb friends. Haven’t met yet, but if we ever get to have in person conferences again and I keep doing what I am doing, we probably will. She doesn’t know how I know her sister. Came in handy, because Lj friend doesn’t use fb much anymore so I just asked her sister for her phone number to tell her about amyth.

Hi, megan! I can't remember how I figured out who I thought you were -- did we ever talk about it? (ETA: It looks like we didn't from your post.) In any case, hello again!

So interesting reading about all the other connections people have. Smonster, I think you have the most I've seen. I wouldn't have believed the world so small. Amazing!
